    Quoted from jackofdiamonds:

    Stern=Data East
    If you played pinball on route in the nineties you would remember that the B/W stuff was the best,The Data East games were always second rate and nobody dropped quarters into them unless the B/W stuff was broken or removed.B/W closes.All we are left with is the second rate Data East stuff.
    Except now its called Stern.
    And its 8k.And comes with incomplete software.

    I had most of the Data East machines at home.
    I think they are les complex than bw games but not less quality.
    Some of them are a bit clunky to play and the rules are less deep.
    But great light and sound and display animations.
    Easy to repair.
    Same as Stern only the spike system is not for home collectors , its made for 4 years arcade life span and then trash them.
    Same as the MM remake , if you want to collect a MM by a Original one.
    This modern smd 10,000 transistor cpu/sound display board is not to repair .

    Quoted from Khabbi:

    You sure about that? When has Stern ever lowered prices? I mean, they finally have an LCD in the game, so that cost MUST be passed on to the end consumer!!

    the spike system is cheaper and less cable looms and labour but no cheaper price tag for spike machine's.
