Quoted from Mikespinball:Serial numbers and manufacture date tags installed. Also kind of cool this is #17 that came off the production line.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I dont think so mine has the same 20017 on it.
Quoted from fiberdude120:I dont think so mine has the same 20017 on it.
Quoted from Coyote:20017 was the model number.
Thanks guys, I did not know that, just assumed that was the number as it was the first one in the serial number box and thought they started with 20001.
Okay, I seem to never leave things alone. The chimney, window and horns I think need to be lit up too. I have some old light boards I could modify and mount behind them. What do you think and/or should I just leave it alone as is?

Not sure, I will let you know. Thanks for the input.

So, I thought about the lighting last night in the topper and decided to leave it alone as is for now.
Today I am working on the inside of the head installation of parts.[quoted image]
My game has factory #906 flashers in the cloud topper.
Changing to 5 led tower leds seemed perfect for me.

I first tried 4 socketed LEDS for GI lighting, but just did not seem bright enough for me. Then changed to a blue strip light with two socketed cool white lights (two LEDs on each socket) on the Addams Family name. Along with the three flash lamps. The blue and white GI lighting is what you see in the pictures. This is where I am stopping for now and may add more later.
Thanks for the input!

5 led tower. 906 replacemrnts are pretty good. Comet pinball.
Use wherever you see a #906 bulb.

Got you covered. I buy my LEDS in bulk from Coin Taker as I like to have options when I am LED-ing out a machine. This way I can choose different colors and styles as I go. The drawer you see is just the 555 and have a second one for 44/47.

Today I am going to start working on the playfield assembly. Bought a new CPR playfield from a Pinsider (silver). Going to start with waxing the playfield as I have forgot this step sometimes in the past as was too excited for assembly.

Yep, i wax and then apply mylar to the pop bumper area as well as anywhere the ball drops.
I am loving this thread. I just shopped my TAF and I am considering doing new cabinet decals- awesome to see this done right!
FWIW I put titan rubbers in mine and they are awesome.
I am jealous of what your outcome will be - but mostly I’m jealous of the amount of time you have to feed your addiction
Will you keep this machine until your dying day or do you think you might sell/trade it some day?

Thank you for the great comments. At this point I have no intentions of selling it. I usually don't go to this length on a restoration other than to keep it, but I have sold a few off in the past and regret it now.

Today working on smaller projects. Decided to change the playfield back board to clear plastic along with a see through decal. I have done this before on my MM, Congo and CFTBL. I then back light this. It looks cool and also helps lighting the back of the playfield which is usually dark.
I bought the decals and took them to a print shop that made the decals transparent. They should be here in the next day or so and will post pictures of them when they arrive.

Starting to work on the playfield. First step installing all the tee nuts.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Do you just hammer them in or do you have another process for this? I'm in the middle of my first restore, and I've been surprised how difficult it is to get some of these tee nuts installed.
Here is what I attempted to do. I saw this method done by a Pinsider. He used a metal plate with a hole in it with a pad under it (I used a small carpet sample). Using a nut head screw and pulled the tee nut down. This worked on a few, but than would snap off the screw. This method also would damage the tee nut threads some. After the first few I tried this on and broke a number of screws and had to also replace some of the tee nuts that got installed, I gave up and went to hammering them in. Not the best way, but did overall work. Let me know if you find a better method.
20200314_110350 (resized).jpgOkay, question/opinion followers not too far off I will be installing the pop bumpers and parts. When I do these I match the skirts, LED and top to the same color. With this in mind I skip the white pop bumper and change it to purple (white it too bright with the LED EVO BriteCaps). The question I have is I am thinking of also changing the yellow pop bumper to green. I do have a true Bally/Williams green cap to match. Your input do I go yellow or green? Green kind of makes sense as we are in the graveyard. I also posted a picture of a previous TAF I did this on for a friends machine.
20200314_112509 (resized).jpgIMG_0601 (resized).JPGWill you “slash cut” the purple cap like the white cap is done from the factory?
I like the idea of the green cap and if you don’t like it that’s 3 mins to swap later. Go for it!
Quoted from Bospins:Will you “slash cut” the purple cap like the white cap is done from the factory?
No, I will not. It's hard to see in the picture of the playfield that I did not cut the pop bumper cap plastic. When you have a complete cap on, the cap plastic just barely extends into the ramp lane. Also this pop bumper is at the beginning of the bottom of the ramp and appears will not be an issue. The LED cap lighting I will be using needs the complete cap and can't be modified. Lastly this machine will only be in home use and I can deal with any issues that may come up.
Quoted from Bospins:I like the idea of the green cap and if you don’t like it that’s 3 mins to swap later. Go for it!
Sorry, but it won't be a 3 minute swap as I match the pop bumpers skirt color to the color of what I choose. I agree that swapping pop bumper color would be about 3 minutes, but the skirt involves removing the GI lighting in the pop bumper/body which is a bear to do as you have to desolder/remove the wiring/staples on the underside of the playfield. This is one thing I hate about pop bumper service, the work involved. That's why I am asking you followers your opinion as whatever color(s) I finely choose that will be the final colors in the pop bumpers.
