This question came up in another thread. Since I'm looking forward to BBQing/grilling as soon as the weather here gets a bit warmer, I thought it might be fun to see what everyone likes.

I grew up putting ketchup on hot dogs, but haven't liked that in a long time. Personally, I like either BBQ sauce, onions, or chili. If I can't have one of those, I'll generally eat it plain.

    Quoted from JayDee:

I guess that falls in the other category

Ok, just added pickles, celery salt, and tomatoes. I had no idea that those were options, lol

3rd generation family member who still puts peanut butter on my hot dog. Try it.

That's the first time I've ever heard that.

I'll have peanut butter on crackers, sandwiches, or as a veggie dip, but I can't imagine a pairing like hot dogs and peanut butter

    Quoted from NashtyFunk:

    That's grilling, not BBQing.

    Quoted from DanQverymuch:

Oh, please. It's a variation of barbequing. Look it up.

The whole gathering is called a barbeque! No one says come over for a grilling!

Ok, I admit that I am an uncultured heathen from the North. Up here, having a BBQ is really just opening a up grill (we usually call it a barbecue) and throwing on some hot dogs, burgers, kielbasi, wurst, chicken, steak, or whatever else. I know in the south it is very different and most folks down there take their BBQing and/or grilling very seriously. I didn't mean to cause any upset

    Quoted from Jamesays:

I bet quite a few people were inspired to make DAWGS or something on their grills today.

Yep--I just picked up a fresh onion and plan to use my little foreman grill to cook up some hot dogs. Not quite the same as a real outdoor grill, but it will hit the spot for now.

Any of you knuckleheads ever try the big unit from Alice coopertown’s in Phoenix?

    That's quite a hot dog

Years ago, there used to be a small mom & pop place on the side of the road around here between two towns that sold foot long hot dogs. I think that's the only place I've ever seen to sell hot dogs that big until you showed that photo. I think I may have only been there 2-3 times while it was open.

The building and sign are still there, though I don't recall exactly when it closed since it was so long ago:

    Quoted from mtn-:

Fries and meatsauce on a sausage? It doesnt get wet and soggy?

Nah. I've never had an issue with sogginess. I guess the trick is not to let it sit for too long.
