Issues after waxing AC/DC Premium/Luci

So I just waxed my playing field for the first time and boy does it play fast. That's not the problem--knew that was coming.
Rather:
-The ball now travels so fast and hits the bell so hard, that the bell swings back and smacks up into the backglass.
-Clear elements of the playing field (plastic ramps, the part over the lower playing field) show a lot of wax residue. This causes the playing field to look a bit dirty.
-There are also elements of wax residue on some other playing field elements (I used Blitz wax). Any idea on best way to remove it?

Anybody have these issues or ideas on how to deal with?
Thanks!

Did you try a separate, clean, Terri cloth to try and remove the residue? Preferably try to buff it with the cloth?

It will wear off after a few games, no big deal.

Everyday alcohol will strip away any wax buildup.

I've never worried about this because the wax is what is providing protection to the playfield.

All of my games have a little wax buildup.....but they also have no wear!

Once the wax dries, it pretty much flakes off. I would suggest getting in there with a toothbrush. Nice and small, harmless bristles.
Then you can use a slightly damp cloth to pick up the bits of wax.
Next time, just be careful of the edges of your wax sponge, brushing up against these things as you're applying the wax.
I usually wax most of the playfield, but I don't go through the trouble of getting it all covered.
Not to worry on the bell. Consider it an added bonus. (Love it when it smacks the glass)

It's tempered glass. Nothing is going to happen. It's a "feature"

Great advice all around. Thanks!

Too much wax. Don't use so much.

Vacuum and a soft paint brush will pick up almost all residuals.
