Quoted from Tommy-dog:

Willy Wonka? I hope not. I would love to add a JJ game to my collection but they keep on adding kid theme games. Yes, I did like Wizard of Oz as a kid but as an adult I do not want the game. The same with the Hobbit.
Dialed In: I don't want a cell phone themed game. I like to disconnect from the cell phone distractions that I have all day when I play pinball.

NEWSFLASH: DI is not about a "cell phone". It's a disaster mode theme, which uses a cell phone as a prop. Don't worry, the game won't be calling you on your cell phone...

For me, the Willy Wonka license is a huge turnoff for some reason. Huge fan of the Toy Story license.

Whatever JJP decides, I hope they are successful with the next release!

Quoted from KingPinGames:

No idea who started the "not selling well" rumor, but my money is that it was someone who has either no interest in the game or doesn't want to spend the money on the game. While I may be a little bias (it is my brother's game), I would argue with most that this is the best JJP title to date. You want assets, watch the movies. You want a great playing game, play the pinball.

Suspending a games production so soon after it's release is highly unusual (and helps validate the "not selling well" rumor).

I also "hear you" on the asset issue, however JJP includes a large/gorgeous display and it's only normal to want movie clips. Isn't it? Theme integration is one of the obvious metrics for movie pins. Stern's recent Star Wars did a great job with theme integration (both audio & video) and adds to the games appeal.

Quoted from clg:

I don't understand the drama about JJP not making pirates. It seems to me the smart thing for JJP to do is to limit supply by making smaller runs of more titles. Nothing like a limited supply to boost demand if you know you may not be able to get something ever or unless you wait a while for it.

If JJP is ready to start producing their next title, I'm sure the drama will subside quickly. If not, it explains the drama for folks considering this title. For folks who have already taken delivery, not sure it matters much.

Quoted from musketd:

Price needs to come down on the next title too; you can get a MB LE which is truly limited and comes with everything including a kick ass topper for 8k. Let’s see what Jack does with WONKA but like I said his price needs to come down big time

Very wishful thinking. Comparing it with MB LE is ridiculous. The R&D cost to develop an entirely new game is substantial. Pat Lawlor and team don't work for free.

As far as I can tell, JJP doesn't have a problem with it's current pricing...they build a premium product. The price reflects what you get. When I compare my DILE with IMDN Premium right next to it, the JJP product is obviously a "good value". You get what you pay for!
