Quoted from rubberducks:

Regardless of what order they come in, JJP sure as hell better be able to crank up speed of production. Something they look like they struggled with on both DI and PotC. Then they will also need to maintain quality and quality assurance.
It'll be a disaster if they release 2 machines in 2019, and they're still only capable of producing at current cadence. Or they build much faster but ship with many issues.
2 new titles, plus WOZ YBR, plus residual demand for DI and PotC ... people would end up waiting literally years, and give up, with existing rate of production.

More like JJP will need to handle the demands for orders of almost the entire POTC run, plus residual orders on WOZ / DI / TH plus surge demand on 2 new pins. I'll admit that until I just said it, the parts sounded feasible, strung together the plan sounds preposterous.

my 2018 estimate - 500 WOZ, 500 DI, 500 Hobbit & 500 POTC = 2k pins.

my 2019 estimate - 250 WOZ, 250 DI, 500 Hobbit, 1,500 POTC, 1,000 Wonka & 500 GNR = 4k pins.

Quoted from rubberducks:

The big hurdle to me is production numbers or capacity. Jack used to consistently say they could do over 4000 units a year at their facility. I don't think they ever did, and waiting times got pretty long for DI and PotC. Ultimately it's cost them a lot of sales, I suspect.
2 new titles and YBR and additional PotCs and DIs to build this year would be impossible on past form. But maybe they can fix that. Bit sceptical without an expansion of their existing facility, or a new one (there was a rumour related to that a while ago).

2018 deliveries occurred in a very disjointed manner, probably due to various manufacturing issues. So next year JJP will increase output by 100%, including the hiring and ramping up of manufacturing staff, continue producing their new POTC, add 2 undefined titles with new unknowns and hurdles. This is a great goal to have but chances of JJP shipping any of their 2nd new pin (whether it is GNR or not) is 0.000000000%.

JJP is incapable of producing a second new pin in 2019 period. If they can accomplish everything else though, it would be their most successful year ever and could be their first to turn a profit. Jack said they will produce 2 new games in 2019, because he believes it. My understanding of JJP and allowing for a metamorphosis of their manufacturing process tells me it won't happen. Grab your hats, 2019 will be a heck of a ride.

Whenever the release party happens for Willy Wonka, Jack better be dressed in full costume. Seeing the cast pic I realized how different in ages the kids looked and I recall my 3rd grade teacher reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to class. It was magical and my sense of nostalgia feels a bit like Citizen Kane, and I am starting to get a excited for the pinball machine. I’d be very happy for it to share such a great layout with DI.

Quoted from arcademojo:

So it will be YBR, WWCF, GnR, TS and HP. Gonna be a good two years for JJP.

My sources concur with first four in your release sequence. Confirmation of hp license looks doubtful.

POTC can and will sell well into the future, so JJP will renew the license and make more. It is a primo game and has only been produced for a few months. They might as well change graphics and call it black pearl edition. History shows us when JJP releases another version, the price increases so it might legitimately be $10k.

Willy Wonka should be another hit. What will the price be ???

If I had to guess production numbers based only on a wet finger held high or my gut, I’d say 1,500 JJPOTC have sold. If the demand stays strong they should be able to announce a future model and sell another 1k. Wish screaminr and KingPinGames had some educated guess or incidentals stories to help guide us

Quoted from drfrightner:

Couple things here... first off I do think POTC is the greatest pinball game ever. Show me one better? ... A couple others I would consider ... Scared Stiff, Monster Bash, Simpsons Pinball Part, Cirqus Voltaire, Big Bang Bar.

Consider adding RZ to your monster/horror wishlist.

Not ready to leave the discussion about how many JJPOTC will ship by April (no pun). Most likely estimate is 1,500 combined models, with a low end estimate of 750 units and 2k on the high end (1.5k LE and 200 CE were announced + throw in 300 SE). From a capacity standpoint JJP could build the max number if orders were there. How bout it @hogbog, will you let us know the combined number once game is off the line?

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

I was talking to the Mrs. yesterday about pinball for way to long (she always loves that lol) and whether or not I should go for Pirates or wait for Willy Wonka. She said she would wait for Willy Wonka out of principle for JJP not including the original spinning disk mech and the opening / closing chest yet still keeping the price the same. .

Wait until you see the POTC yellow brick road edition. That pesky spinning disc will be gone ... poof. Better to get the full edition JJPOTC now.

POTC is JJP’s best game to date. Sorry to hear about the planned switchover in April. This demonstrates one force that cannot be tamed —> MARKET PENETRATION. That’s right, JJP reached their most eager target market - primarily made of past customers and those who have followed its progress over the past few years. There was an initial demand and JJP created the supply to meet it. Allow some time to pass and for more to play the game. POTC demand should continue to build until JJP hears the noise and decides to renew the license and make more. With only a few hundred reviews in ... it is currently JJP’s best game. There is a reason CGC is remaking the top 3 games. JJP owns the games design and rights to #4 and all the hard work is done. They will be able to build and sell pirates for many years to come.

Really this is no different than Stern running a game in multiple batches over many years. They could crank out 3000 Munsters at one go, but 2000 games would sit around for awhile. Instead they make 1000 and then put the brakes on. Later they run a batch of 500 and wait, and if demand is there they run another 500. They understand the market has to breathe. Hopefully this reality works out for JJP too.

Quoted from iceman44:

The license is DONE in March. That's it. Jack pulled the plug versus re upping for another expensive 5 years.
As good as POTC may be, JJP simply has to move on and blow out Wonka, GNR and TS. Monster 2 years coming up for JJP imo

.. sound like if you were interested in buying one, you may have until the end of April to find one at a distributor. No rush but that’s eight weeks away.

Quoted from jfh:

I’ll disappointed if all we hear about at TPF is YBR. How different can it be? It’s not new; it’s still WOZ.

Maybe it will be a black and white version of WOZ, that’s different .... JJP is bringing WOZ to TPF and Wonka will not be shown nor discussed.

Not all upcoming titles will appeal to everyone, but at least one theme should appeal to most. With Matrix thrown into the mix, JJP has upped their cache’. With enough themes offered, I may one day own 5 JJP’s.

WOZ - yes

Hobbit - yes

Dialed In - no

POTC - yes

Wonka - yes

GNR - no

Toy Story - no

Matrix - yes

Quoted from Frogman:

Corrected my post - estimated price is $9500, not $9950.

And if LE’s are $9,500 then SE’s would be $8,500, right?

Quoted from gliebig:

LE's will have a real live Oompa Lumpa under the glass.

My cat fits, so I’m choosing to believe your rumor.

Quoted from LTG:

CGC is sending me ! Great news.
LTG : )

Congrats Lloyd, MGC is ideal show for you to attend this year. Wonka will be revealed ... and because you’re a closet Oompa Loompa who never grew up.
