Wonka is a pretty beloved freaky old movie, Gene Wilder was a national treasure, and it fits right in with the usual JJP demographic so everybody - even the "why don't you do a Kanye West game" complainers - will be happy with plenty of stuff to work with.

If it's true I think this would probably be JJPs best theme so far

Quoted from Colsond3:

It has to be. The original is one of my faves, and Wilder killed the role like nobody else could. To this day, I have actually avoided ever watching any part of the Johnny Depp remake. CGI’d Oompa Loompas? Rubbish.

Honestly it was kinda weird and cool just like the original, yet a very different movie.

Don’t be afraid. It won’t ruin your childhood to check it out.

Quoted from PinMonk:

I cannot see Lawlor recycling a whole game of his. He recycles elements of his ouevre all the time, but a whole game? Never. He managed to strongarm Jack into moving the headphone jack to people's knees where it makes no sense for god's sake! That should give you a sniff of their dynamic. He's definitely not going to be cool with Jack recycling a whole game design of his, and definitely not so soon.

It’s like nobody around here has ever heard of Shrek before.

Quoted from BMore-Pinball:

At this point, I couldn't care less about $100 here or there.
Just give me a great looking and playing game that doesn't require a 6 month wait and a 1/2 dozen adjustments once I open it up
and JJP will have an LE customer

People are DYING for a game like this I think. A good game with a good theme that isn't overstuffed with questionable mechs. Picture...Dialed in with a an awesome license.

I think that's what we may have here. All I'm hearing about this game sounds great so far, I think people here are gonna be very happy with it.

I hope JJP continues to pack these pins as much as possible.

If they've learned anything they will actually not do this anymore. That's how you end up with mechanical nightmares like Hobbit and POTC.

JJP needs to put out a fun, simplish game that isn't trying too hard and is relatively mechanically reliable - something like Dialed in, except with a decent license.

Hopefully that's what we've got here. JJP needs a hit bad and I really hope they get one.

Quoted from jeffro01:

I'm impressed at the lack of leaks... No camera phone inside edition shots of a mock up play field or cabinet art or anything...
Jeff

We've never seen that kind of thing on a JJP release, and people who have played and seen the game have likely signed and abidden by their NDAs.

I've heard some precious and tantalizing details but I'm simply not at liberty to share them!

Indeed I believe this game has more in common with Dialed in than say, hobbit.

man we REALLY need to combine these dualing WW threads.

Don’t worry bro natural selection will sort this all out within a couple days. Always does.

Quoted from Bublehead:

I don’t know which is anticipated more by Pinside, the reveal of JJP WW, the Dead Flip stream of BKSoR or delivery of my MBrLE.

The dead flip BK stream is the single most anticipated thing in Pinside history.

Until 10 minutes after it's over, at which time the Wonka reveal on Friday will become the most anticipated thing in Pinside history.

Quoted from JodyG:

While I really hope BK winds up being a great game, part of me really wants to see some of the cocky folks at Stern humbled a bit on Friday when Wonka drops.

Remember when they were humbled in Texas? That “dark night for stern?”

Enough of this nonsense. It’s pinball not Days of Our Lives. And what happens at a reveal really doesn’t matter beyond the latest podcast cycle.

It’s quite possible both games will be well revealed and nobody needs to be “humbled.”
