What's the difference between DI and POTC in regard to voices, music, and movie clips? Oh that's right DI has no movie clips. If we can get over the POTC title and accept it as a pirate theme, its a fantastic game. The lack of movie clips will likely make the game more timeless, especially since Disney is now looking to reboot the franchise. Having played each JJP game, I can easily say that my favorite is POTC, followed by WOZ, then DI, and lastly Hobbit, which is filled with movie assets. With WOZ, its not the movie clips that makes the game fun to me, its the game features and lighting. The only thing that holds back DI for me is the playschool toys that look like they came out of a three year old's toy box. I've cooled down over the theme and the game itself shoots great. I know I'll get some thumbs down from the DI champions out there, but so be it.

My point is that the movie assets is the least important factor for me. Now if this was a theme that was super important to me, like SW, then that would take a few steps up, but I really have a neutral appeal to POTC. I've watched each movie once and that was plenty.

Quoted from JY64:

For those of you who are going to bring up the $8500 model look at the pinside owners JJP collectors do not want the $8500 model

I agree. This is mostly because the value is there for the LE model at 1k more.
Invisiglass
shaker
topper
molded toys
starfield
powdercoat (who cares, but still)

I'll admit its close on value, but if you're already dropping 8500, what's another 1k to get all the above? Heck, most here are going to drop another $500 on mods anyway. LOL

Quoted from mnpinball:

I love that attached picture because It had 158 ratings with spot number 4 there’s no comparison with 1-3 based on average Pirates would be number 1 for a long time. But since the top three games are games from the 90s and have had recent releases of course they have more ratings so it’s simply not fair in the rating system as advertised.

I get your point, however, those three games were already the top three for years before the remakes came out. The only thing that changed were their order in that top three. The rating is for the game, not the manufacturer. CGC (subjectively) improved the games and as such, the rating numbers increased and there are more owners and more ratings that have been added to them.

Quoted from MK6PIN:

Yet TZ still hangs solid on it's own...that's why it's #1 on IPDB list.... (and the other 3 still had a much larger pool of votes prior to the remakes coming out)

You are correct sir. I forgot about TZ . It was always up there and usually floated around 2nd most of that time on the Pinside list, with AFM and MB following behind it.

The Hobbit is always the game I want to play.

With the shrine you have there, that's not at all difficult to believe.

Quoted from DCFAN:

JJP needs a full-featured version at around $7200 like Stern to get decent volume sales. If they can't ever get their sales numbers up by pricing competitively with other manufacturers then I don't see them surviving. They simply have too much overhead to not necessitate increasing volume.

Even though a 7200 full featured game from JJP would be cool, I don't see it happening. That's not their target market. They are producing games for the higher end market. So 8500 plus is where they will stay for all versions. They are leaving the 5-7k games for Stern. Besides, the value is there by comparison. I don't think anyone can argue that JJP pins are not loaded with features compared to Stern games.
