Assuming both are in equal condition?

I've played Monopoly a lot in Charleston, and came very close to grabbing one a couple years ago. My very, very nice WCS just doesn't get played a lot anymore.....curious if these 2 would qualify for a fair, even trade, if the option arose....

I know I have more $$$ in mine than I'll ever get out ( one of Mike's last brass projects, new plastic ramps, all molex connectors, new boards,Sigma colordmd, GLM opto board controller to name a few) so I'll want a nice one in return.

Just thinking about testing the waters....Monopoly plays so different, I think it would be a nice alternate in my lineup.

I sold each of them for $2K.

Hopefully, both routed equally...guess that answers my question ( at least I could use my colordmd in Monopoly...

Actually Monopoly was HUO. But I sold that about 8 years ago and figured that equals it out. And WCS went to a friend only a few weeks ago. I think it was nice. It was in The Sanctum for a few months so anyone who played it there can give you a condition opinion.

I remember you mentioning the WCS sale in the colordmd thread.....wow....I think at those prices, I'd just make room for Monopoly, and keep my WCS ....had no idea some of these great older titles were this affordable....think I paid 3k for mine quite some time back....it doesn't get played much, but would eventually miss it way more than 2k....

I can see how people accumulate games.....thanks for the insight....

With prices like that how can you go wrong.

Exactly.....good grief!!!

You will not find those prices regularly [or on Pinside]. But in New England there are a lot of games and a lot of good people. If they know you are a good buyer you will get good prices. A good buyer/sellers understand described condition, show up with the agreed upon cash, drive off with the pin and not call up about petty crap afterwards.
There are people who if I tell them I want a game they instantly say "Yours" knowing it will be an easy transaction. And I have had them tell me to give them less when I show up without me asking them. (They tack on wiggle room dollars for PITA buyers)
People in the hobby for the long haul learn the value in being a good buyer as well as a good seller.

I'm a great buyer, but have actually only sold one of my pins ( LOTR...I just didn't like it at all). Could never part w my WCS for 2k ( even 3k) as it's worth more than that to me. Your response answers my question though....seems consensus is they are about of equal value, w Monopoly being possibly a little less. Will just have to contemplate if I really want to trade, then find someone that has a machine up for the deal....

I've found an HUO from a trusted pinsider for a very fair price....I'm afraid with these being this reasonable, I'll just have to resort to my hoarding tendency and keep my WCS. Now...if I can find another slot.....

These are both great games, imho....amazing how some can draw 2-3x the price of these....oddity of the hobby. I can now see how a lot are upset w " pinflation" prices. Do I play my WCS as much as I used to?...no. But do I think it's only worth 25% of some of the new titles? No way. I'd rather keep it, and enjoy on occasion...

Full disclosure I'm a pinball addict so my advice is of an addict.

Ditto.....we need help.....

If you do not play WCS I would just sell it. I had mine for a year and a half and enjoyed it a lot. but after I sold it I do not miss it at all. I just sold LOTR to get SW also. I don't miss that either even though it is one of the greats.
If you have kids or folks come over who like WCS keep it for them, but if it is mostly you and you don't play it then I would sell.
On Mono I kind of like it, but some friends warned me to stay away. I like fun quirky games and did buy RCT, a Lawlor from the same time frame as Mono and really liked it, but a POTC came up and RCT had to go to get it.
If you played and liked Mono grab it.

My Son is a soccer nut, so when he has friends over is when it lights the most. I think about moving it, then play it, and change my mind. Done a ton of work on it, and it plays perfectly, truthfully a beautiful game, imho. Keep waiting for the sigma to get colorized, think it would add even more. I also got rid of LOTR, as I'm one of the few that really don't like the game.

I still like WCS, but toyed w the idea of being practical and moving it for a similar priced game I might play more....think Buzz is right, however....Probably miss it when it left...and the personal vs. street value difference just too high.

"Practical" and "pinball" oxymoron for sure...
