If you know that it is what YOU like, then it isn't a bad choice. If you aren't sure, it sure seems like a high priced game for the first one, especially as TZ is generally a polarizing game for a lot of people. A lot of people LOVE it, and a bunch of people HATE it.

I'm personally in the HATE camp. Got one a while ago hoping to find the magic in it, and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Wish I held onto it a bit more actually, would've made some money on the sale, as they have rocketed up in price lately.

Quoted from GoneFishinLvMsg:

Mine was minty fresh. Bought it a year ago for $4200, sold 6 mos ago for $4500 and it sounds like I could have gotten $5k easy now.

Mine was unshopped (although clean) when I bought it, and unshopped when I sold it because i was lazy. I originally planned on using it in Clock Chaos at the MGC since I based the whole Clock Chaos idea off that game and it's Clock Chaos quotes, but alas I just couldn't get in it enough to justify keeping it.

It had just a few really small issues, but was purchased by me from someone who while undocumented, I bet was the original owner. The game looked like it had almost no plays on it, and even had little dimples in a bunch of the playfield to show how little it was played. The Power Ball was still bright white, unlike the color you get from ones that are in the field where they are silver.

I sold it 11 months ago for far less than what you paid for yours. I also know that if I shopped it, I could have easily gotten $5k+ for it now. Ah well, if I kept it I wouldn't have had room to get WCS, and I like that *personally* way more as a game.

Quoted from Jackontherocks:

Are the repairs out of control with this game because of everything it has in it?

Just like any pin - depends on exactly how well it's gone through and how you treat it.

If you or someone else goes through it, updating parts that break often and fixing little issues, it shouldn't have much needed in the way of repairs. Get one held together just barely, and it's a nightmare... just like just about any other DMD era game.
