Have not seen it in person but seller says it starts up but doesn’t play. Wants 650.

Supposed to hear back today and set up a time to go see it. I am new to this and can handle some simple stuff. Is it worth being a project machine? Or just pass?

Thanks all for the advice/help.

Yes - if a project doesn't scare you - and it shouldn't - they are great learning experiences.
Fun game, great price. Just check the mpu board for Acdc damage from the batteries or it could quickly add $300-$400 to your project real quick, which still isn't a bad price but just be aware of that right off the start.

That would be acid damage not Acdc damage - I love apple autocorrect...lol

Come in low at $300.00 and try to arrive at $400-$500.

#5 6 years ago

Yes if it has any acid I am going to tell the seller it drops what my offer is.

300??? That should sell for over 300 even if the MPU is missing

650 seems good for a project system 11 with decent playfield. As others mentioned parts/work adds up fast depending on what it needs

Good luck! This game is on my list, I love the art and the gameplay is decent.

Usually 'startup' = ground illumination only. Things add up fast on a system 11. A 'new' display will run you over $100 and a 'new' working MPU will over $300. Look close at the metal/wood parts as it appears the machine has been sitting for a long time. I would not pay more than $300 for it as there are to many unknowns if it doesn't boot.

I picked up a police force a while back for $300 with no MPU board. I ended up putting $600 into it and eventually sold it for $1100.

Are the pop bumper assembly's completely missing?

#10 6 years ago

Edit, I see now, that's what the stickers on the caps look like. If it is complete, 650 is ok. 500 would be better if it has cpu issues

#11 6 years ago

Sounds good if it at least boots and doesn't have lots of acid damage.

#12 6 years ago

You can bring it back to life, acid damage or not! Do it! I believe in you!

#13 6 years ago

I see little risk at that price. At the very least you should be able to clean it up and sell it for more than $650.

There is no acid in an alkaline battery. If it's damaged from battery leakage it's alkaline damage and it's neutralized with a mild acid.

Go get it. What are you waiting on? Post a picture of all the boards in the backbox, especially the MPU once you have the game.

Check under the playfield for rusty stuff.

It looks like they are complete but no bumper caps is all

Did you get to see the pin?

Nope, finally heard back asked for pics of the board and 5 minutes later listed as sold. O well, cleaning my taxi now anyway so it’s probably better my wife might have killed me.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone here saw your questions, found the ad, and bought the game. Generally speaking, it seems like it's better to ask the "what's it worth" questions after you've already bought the game.

The good news, is there will be others.

Yup you waited to long and posted the for sale ad too. Sellers don't want to mess around with more pictures, especially if it's something there not familiar with or don't even know what a CPU board is. Next time don't do either and just go get the thing.
