A lot of the metal parts in my 1978 EM Queens Castle machine have this chalky white something all over them and I'm unsure if it is rust or not. If anyone has any knowledge on getting it cleaned off I'd be really greatful!

    Thank you
    James

A Tumbler and evaporust are your friends or some coumpound sanding and elbow grease.

Its the zinc/nickle layer that protects from rust oxidizing and falling away. If you tumble them, you will loose it entirely and be prone to actual rust (which is always red, as its reacting to iron in the metal.

Above is a link from a resto where they re-plate at home.

Get it and the other parts replated
I'm getting parts off old Bally SS games done at the moment. They are coming back shiny and like new
