Quoted from PACMAN:

Not trying to stir things up, just want to know if this is now considered the norm.

If you do a bit of pounding and stapling near the inserts it can happen.
It can also happen anyway regardless of that but if you didn’t notice before you started building only after it could be from the building process.

I have seen it right out of the box and also not until after assembly so it can go either way. One of the many reasons I have gotten away from stapled braid on playfields.

Quoted from PACMAN:

Crud. So how do you go about attaching the braid and pounding the t-nuts?

I use a t nut tool to pull those in and I use two lead sockets so I don’t have to use bare stapled wire.

This might highlight that but it has been a while on Medusa specifically.

Chris, I don’t want to sound like an idiot but want to make sure I understand, you use 2 lead sockets and run a loose ground wire from socket to socket? If that is so, are there any issues that arise that I have not thought about yet?
Thanks for the info, if I am thinking this correctly it might make changing the SS Playfields more user friendly for me!

Yes
No issues the main thing is about mapping it out so the leads don’t touch or get in the way of other parts.
I have probably detailed it in a few Restoration threads.

Can also be done with single lead sockets using screw terminals
