That is not a resistor but rather a capacitor. It gives your flippers more "spunk". you are best to use them. refer to Vids guide on repairing flippers

It reduces the arcing/sparks on the eos (end of stroke) switch so the flipper will work okay without it but your switch will pit and fail much sooner than with the capacitor installed. BTW - your switch is missing one of the leafs, looks like it has broken off.

I noticed one of the flippers was sparking at the eos more than any other. Is that a sign that capacitor is bad?
