Cheating. One of the reasons why many olde EMs, with shallow flippers (barely above horizontal when activated) and lower slopes are *harder* than many modern games--you an barely cradle the ball, and drop catches have to be very precise. People who make their new games "super steep" and think they're harder because they're 'faster' are wrong--it's much easier to catch and hold the ball on a steep game, and there's less side-to-side sling action that throws thye ball to the outlanes.
