Hi,

Going through a newly acquired Funland and came across this flipper coil (the red one on the left side). It has obviously been replaced but there are no markings on it.

Does anyone recognize it as an A-5141? Is there a way to tell without counting the windings?

Thx.

You could measure the resistance and compare to the chart. No way to tell otherwise.

On that vintage of coil, Gottlieb embossed the coil number into the bobbin where the terminals are. Take the coil stop off and drop the coil down to look at the backside of the bobbin. See the circled area I drew in your picture? On the back of the terminal side of the bobbin is the number. You might have to shine a flashlight across it to see it, but it's there.

yeah, but lots of coils should read about the same. I found a good A-5141 in my parts bin, I'll just swap it out to make sure.

Flipper isn't strong, "lets fix it"...... 1) replace coil 2) tighten coil stop so tight that it breaks, 3) make sure the EOS stays closed, put the top coil bracket on cockeyed.......etc

Thanks Ken,

I was looking at the red coil. I already checked, but there's nothing there. As you can see, that one has a plastic terminal plate, not fiber. Nothing embossed.

Nothing here on my end either. I just opened up the Fun Park.

turns out it was a a Bally/Stern flipper coil. I don't have the number right now, but can get it if you really want.

over 8Ω compared to GTB's 6.3ish.
