There's a piece of mylar on the playfield and under it is the word fantastic.. I can't tell if it's a sticker or a painted graphic. Did they ever use the word "fantastic" there on the play field ?

That is a traditionally high wear area on that playfield. Often leaving very large ugly bare spots. It's a sticker and actually pretty clever. I would leave it unless you are refinishing your playfield because I guarantee you won't like what you see if you remove it.
