I bought this board as part of a large group of parts. I believe that it came out of a Lady Luck. I’ve only done very minor component replacements. Is this mpu repairable and what’s it worth in it’s current state? Thanks

She looks pretty rough, but I've also seen worse looking MPUs boot. If it didn't boot on the bench I'd probably just put it in the "saved for parts" pile.

That depends on how much work you want to put into it. The battery damage is pretty extensive.

Unfortunately I don’t own a 6803 pin or have access to one to test it in. I’m trying to determine if it’s repairable and what a fair price for it; as is and repaired and fully working. Big Daddy Enterprises sold a nos working mpu for $200.

ChrisHibler Your thoughts? Is this board repairable?

$10?

Can it be repaired? Probably. Would it be cost effective to send it out for repair? Probably not.

ForceFlow Is anyone making repro 6803 mpus or other 6803 boards?

#7 2 years ago

That is one that I wouldn't touch.
While it can be repaired, it would take so much time that it would be wildly cost ineffective.
Too bad. AFAIK, Swemmer was the only one to make a repro of this board.

Swemmer is the only one I'm aware of as well.

I think there is a LISY FPGA version for Bally 6803, or at least one is being developed.

There hasn't been any announcement I know of that a LISY Bally 6803 is in development.

I must be conflating the 6802 support discussion with 6803. The BallyFA page doesn't explicitly call out which MPUs it supports.

Pretty sure the BallyFA (I have 3 of them) is designed to replace the -35 boards from the earlier generation of Bally machines. I've run them in KISS, Paragon and Flash Gordon.

I'll try to repair the board sometime in the future.

Speaking of SWEMMER.... is he still around? I bought a couple of NEW boards from him last year on ebay that I absolutely Love and want to get another set for a different pin. Unfortunately he no longer sells on ebay and emailing with the email on his website gets no response. I have sent a few emails over the last month with no luck.

Have you checked Ks Arcade and Pinball Resource? They carry his boards. I’m not sure if Big Daddy Enterprises or Marcos carry his boards, but worth checking.

Yes and unfortunately neither of them carry the setup that I need or have it in stock. I need the SWEMMER MPU and Driver board for a Williams System 6. I noticed a lot of his stuff is out of stock so I wasn't sure he was still around or if something happened.

Wasn’t there a company in Texas making Williams boards? Pinball Basement in MN makes Williams boards, but I think he’s only making WPC right now. Check with him.

I have never heard of them but I will try and contact them. I appreciate the lead.
