Hi Bob... you might already have the answer/details by now, but I'll share this anyway for the greater good. The metal tool has a slot at each tip that allows you to slide the tool over the switch metal blade (think of a really skinny set of fixed width needle nose pliers). The two 90 degree bend at the one end of the tool help you reach different areas. I got mine from Steve at PinballResource it's a few bucks cheaper... the 90 degree bend is incredibly useful vs trying to get a screwdriver into certain tight areas for adjusting switches
