We just moved a Centaur 2 to Zapcon with the head off (displays still on lower body). Took me waaaaay longer to get it put together than it should have. Left the head on for the ride home.
In the past I believe I pulled the complete head, displays and all, off an EBDLE, but that requires lifting the playfield to remove the bolts on the side. Only benefit was the display to head harness didn't have to be removed.
