The Vid's guides are amazing resources that help with pinball repair and restoration. Ones on cabinet and playfield restoration as well as some others are on my favorite list. Is there one specific to backglasses? If there is I haven't come across it yet. If not that seems to be the only one missing.

It would be great to see one or at least a post that lists all the good backglass restoration techniques.

I've read a couple about peeling and flaking backglass but nothing all in one spot like the awesome Vid's guides.

Luckily I don't have an issues with flaking or peeling on any of my backglass. Some have small scratches and nicks in the back that let light shine through from previous owners. I'd like to carefully touch them up at some point without making them worst. I'm not sure if the same paints used on the playfield would be the best ones to use. I'd also like to avoid any known to react badly with existing paint.

I've got a ton of 8.5" x 11" clear plotter sheets and was going to use them to practice on and see how well the colors match. I'll probably see if my daugher can do this part since she is the artistic one and would do a better job than I would. I'll just stick to soldering..

This is one of the spots that I would like to see if it can be touched up. It isn't too bad but I think with a little touch up it would blend right in.

I also have a Count-Down backglass that is just about perfect with the exception of the blue for one of the displays. I thought it may be best to remove the rest of the blue from that window and repaint that. Anyone have ideas on what paint would be best for that?

I'm not in a hurry on either of these and plan on getting lots of practice before touching these.

    Quoted from MrBally:

I would simply replace the blue mask(s) on your Count Down glass. Steve Young at Pinball Resource should be able to help. Or just get something at a Hobby Lobby etc.

That is definitely an option. Come to think about it I can look into the colored gels they use in stage lighting. You can get those in just about any color and I should be able to find a close match. With that it may not be noticeable when you're playing the game.
