I’m sure someone else will chime in with a better answer. I’m not sure if there’s an “official” abbreviation list anywhere. I usually go to https://www.ipdb.org/search.pl to see the common abbreviation.

Even that list is somewhat confusing. There are six games with the “SS” abbreviation.
Quoted from Diospinball:Yeah, but only one that features the hostest with mostest... I'd say most people mean Scared Stiff with SS... But, a few could be talking about solid state games. Have to take it in context.
And yes... I'm still a bit new in the hobby and when I see WH2O... I get confused. That's white water by the way. I think they do it that way so not to get confused with Water World... Don't know... But, that's part of the fun on the forums learning and decoding.
Good point. I agree, SS should be Scared Stiff. I have both Space Station and Scared Stiff and always spell out Space Station to avoid confusion.
I think of WW as Whirlwind.
