Is this one thicker drop target on the E of the left bank of drop targets original? I was having an issue where occasionally a few of the targets didn't seem like they wanted to drop all the way when hit, leaving about an 1/8th" above the playfield. They appeared to be dragging due to the aftermarket decals placed over the originals creating too much thickness for the slot. When I removed the decals, I noticed the one odd target on the left bank. Even after removing the layered decals, they still don't all drop correctly. It occurs on both banks. Thanks.

Them not dropping is definitely not a decal issue.

I just finished cleaning and putting everything back together and now I am working out all the bugs and tweaking everything to my liking. With that being said, I've got a couple issues I'm still dealing with:

1) Switch 32 (Trough 1 Opto) is always registering as open (or closed, haha, either way, it treats it like a ball is always in the trough 1 spot)

I've been trying to troubleshoot but the issue doesn't seem to be on the cpu board, the rough opto boards or the 7 opto board). The only real negative is the credit dot, so I suppose I'll let that one slide for now.

2)Getting a ball hang up on the wire underneath "the machine" area that feeds the bronto/machine popper.

I don't really want to remove "the machine" if I don't have to. I'm thinking I may add a thin screw on the underside of the PF into the hole of one side of the wireform to push up and secure it, not committed to that idea yet but I did use a small punch and pushed it up and it seemed to solve the issue temporarily.

3)With MB lit, feeding the right orbit, the ball hits the diverter and falls into the pops.

The diverter works flawlessly when "The Machine" is lit, so maybe this is a software, not a hardware issue. Anyone have any thoughts, experiences, or suggestions on this one? This one is definitely my primary concern.

4) Occasionally the feed from the left ramp to the left flipper bounces around and works its way into the outlane or to the right side of the slingshot.

I haven't really tried anything yet but I'm thinking adjusting the alignment of the hole or possibly adding some foam for the ball to hit and deaden the ball a bit before it drops.

If I'm able to figure any of my issues, I'll let you folks know.

Picked up my first flintstones today and I’ve got it almost stripped.

I’m missing several plastics so if anyone has any extra or a new set sitting around let me know

I’m super excited to get this back together! Looks like a really fun game

Plastics are very difficult to come by for this game. I found 2 I needed off of ebay so I would start there or place a wanted ad in the marketplace. Good luck and welcome to the club.

Quoted from Vincenzo:

Had my backbox decals printed this week. From a file I got on this thread. Thanks!
The cabinet has some wears. Some wood and paint work to be done before applying the decals.
Nothing to do with decals : the original legs of the Flintstones more look like bronze rather than gold, am I right?
Mine still has his legs, but they are a little rusty. So I ordered a set of gold legs. But they seem very shiny compared to the originals!

Hi All,

Try to co a clean up of my flintstones which includes new decals. Can anyone point me to the direction of the above mentione file ?

Hey, have any of you fine folks experienced a "trough 1" opto problem on your machines, I believe it is switch 32.

I came across a thread where someone suggested it was a code issue but if that's the case, I figured this thread could confirm it.

Edit:
Ok scratch that. I was able to resolved my issue and confirm that it is in fact NOT a code issue.

for the buildings I used 5v sockets and tied into GI under the playfield. Make sure you put electrical tape over the sockets to help hold in and not short out. Also wrap metal supports with electrical tape.

For the dino I used green LED strip and ran off the 12v on the driver board, just made new connector. I can take a picture if it will help.

Also just daisy chained GI under apron, added 4 sockets

these are pics I had. I can take more of whatever you need.

thx

Just ordered the Color DMD too!!....you may see a neon sign in the glass reflection... its a 10ft Neon Buffalo...

Great help and inspiration, it’s one of the better looking, subtle yet dominant lighting of the FS playfield I’ve seen and your photos are great. I’ll be sure to reach out once I get started. Do you have any link/recommendation for the LEDs? Should I go with one of those 200$ light kits? Have a fabulous weekend.

I buy my leds from comet. I used a mixture of incandescent and LED. a green bendy for the dino.
4 smd but mostly reg incandescent. I always thought Flintstones looked better with reg bulbs. (for the backglass)

also j117 is where I pull my 12v from. ( For dino or any other 12v strip) you could use a splitter connector or just pin them together like I did.

I used all 2smd warm white from comet in GI and 3 purple for the purple plastics. pic looks like it color bombs but it person it looks perfect, no color bomb.

1 smd in inserts

color dmd will go in tonight. I'll post some pics

For the buildings I just use the 6V led strips. Much easier than using lamp sockets or 12V led strips. 6V led strips are more expensive when compared to 12V but soooo much easier to install. Just hook up to any GI socket.

You can save yourself a ton of time and a lot of hassle instead of wiring in light sockets and you can just use these from Comet pinball. They are in the matrix group and come in either 6 Volt or 12 volt whichever one you choose. I just went with six volt and pulled from the GI and I put three in each one of the buildings and they turned out great and it was very simple. The pic below shows how they turned out.

I've had my flinstones for over a year and for the most part it has been a pretty solid working pin, but I fired it up after not using it for a couple months and all of a sudden the game resets when right flipper is pressed. game not showing any errors and flippers were rebuilt a year ago with all new parts, any ideas why the sudden change?

Does it have an nvram installed or batteries? If batteries check those 1st

How come flintstones doesn’t have a level like every game made after TZ?

I got a bubble level, but other than knowing if I’m evenly leveled or not, I can’t get a pitch since there’s no marked indicator of inches.

#1042 4 years ago

It's also lacking a video mode for a game of this vintage.

This game has always been a bear for me to level. Especially the appron. Keeping the ball from falling off the ledge og the apron while maintaining a level playfield takes some time. Very Satisfying when done! The apron ramp rap around is one of the coolest features on a pinball in my opinion.

It most definitely is a great feature.... btw, my package full of goodies from comet has landed today...hope customs clear it fast so by the weekend I can start playing with the lights....

I have messed with mone countless times and cannot get it leveles correctly. The left apron loop stays on but when it comes down right side about 75% of the time the ball falls off.

I had same issue. I made my adjustment here. loosen the screw there in my pic. sometimes just by loosing it makes a huge difference. if not put a washer under it to raise it slightly. make sure it's under the plastic apron/wrap around clear ramp

The ball seems to get stuck up by the entrance to the rock crusher, is this a leveling thing (everything else works perfect including the smart ramps) ? Any other suggestions?

Couple ways to help this problem.

May want to raise back leg levelers a little. (Gives ball a little more speed and force through the switch)

OR

You can also bend that switch leg a little out towards the machine but make sure the ball will still trigger the switch. You don't want to bend it too far. After you make you adjustment got to switch test and roll a ball through to make sure it will still register after you make your adjustment.

Hope this helps. Its pretty common place to get stuck.
