Easy fix, how long did it take you find?
Started with no colordmd, so no 12v, got that up and it was showing two drop target errors on the 4 bank. Went from there. About a half hour or so. Easy fixes are the best.
Awesome...That is almost stealing it!!! Doesn't look bad, and that credit dot is probably an easy fix.
Quoted from mkgoetz:Picked up mine last week. Super clean playfield and plastics. Grabbed it for $900.00 felt like I was stealing it
You stole it. Great job!
Can someone point me to the source for:
Cartoon playfield overlay
Bronto light strip mod
Rock crusher light mod
Cartoon translite (clean)

price drop bump
$650
Just joined the club and I really need an alternate translite and hopefully a playfield overlay to get rid of Rosie's mug. If anyone has a lead please let me know.
If you're having trouble with the ball falling off the ramp, the top edge is screwed down too far on the inlanes. You can just put a washer or two under the apron to fix the angle and solve the problem.

I tried loosening the screw a bit and I kept the pitch at 8 degrees and it still fell off 50% of the time. With this lexan piece, I tightened the screws, put the pitch back to 6.5 and it works perfectly. This must have been a common problem because its in the code to give a ball save when it happens.
Never happens on my Flntstones and I have had it for 15 years or so. Once when I moved it the ball fell off a few times but the game wasn't set up perfectly level which I think effects it.
Hi everyone, I picked up my Flintstones a month ago and eventually joined the club! My only pinball was a MB, and the kids find it was too scary (c'mon guys, it's just cartoon monsters! and I had to sell a kidney to buy this machine!)
So I decided to buy something more kids friendly. Had to be an "affordable" DMD of the 90's, with no monsters nor boobies. So I chose the Flintstones!
I bought it from a guy near Dijon (French mustard city). The playfield and plastics are very nice, the underneath is very clean too, ne kludge. The cabinet is OK but the backbox and its decal are a bit damaged (btw I'm looking for the backbox decal. A nice file would be helping too, I could have it print by my self, thanks!).
The legs seem to be the original bronze ones, but they are quite rusted. Still wondering if I should clean them or if it's better to have them powder coated (probably black).
I did never play the Flintstones before buying, and after a month I really love that game. It's a lot of fun, and I haven't turned on the MB for a while!

Welcome to the club! Files for the backbox decal are out there.

I love powdercoating. All my Bally/Williams games are powdercoated. I particularly like the look of burnt tangerine for Flintstones.

Yes, I've seen your machine previously in this post. At first this color seemed strange to me. But the more I look at it, the more I think it's maybe the good choice for the Flintstones! The contrast between black and orange is great.

Welcome to the club! It's definitely a must have for kids
Looking at your backglass, I realized mine has an issue : the previous owner replaced the bulbs by leds, but as a results you could see the light spots behind the cartoons. To avoid this, he put some yellow rubber tape on the leds, to soften the light. Now the backglass is very dark and kinda green. Yuk. I guess I will swap back to bulbs.

Thank's!
Our kids like it...and my wife likes it even more. It's a really good, Fun game! And it keeps them of my Tales from the crypt
Quoted from shane63026:Fun game! I bought the led kit from pinballbulbs.com and it looks great. Imo. The only thing I don't like is that there's not a topper for it. I guess they didn't come out with one from the factory?
Nice! I see you have the alternate translite with the cartoon characters rather than the movie characters on the play field. If you're ever interested in swapping to the original translite, let me know...I'd take your cartoon one!

Contact Joe Kace at Laseriffic. He may have a topper.

Quoted from MT45:Update on a problem I've had forever on my FS. Finally fixed with a custom cut plastic I made out of lexan. I'll try to post the template later for those interested in making their own.

Id love a template if you ever get time. Im having the same problem with mine except it only falls off when it coming behind the right flipper. If it goes behind the left flipper it works just fine.
Hi Guys:
I have just bought a Flintstones and have a few questions:
1: Is the middle of the bottom arch (apron) illuminated from the factory or is that a mod?
2: How do I remove the bottom arch (apron)? It is not obvious to me.
3: For those of you that bought the 'lighted Dino' mod, where does it pick up it's power from?
Thanks so much.
Roger
Check your screws that hold the apron down.... I had one come just slightly loose and it was enough to cause the ball to fall off, the game also needs to be perfectly level side to side, and set up steep enough or the ball can/will fall off. Once set up properly though its a ton of fun.
rogerdodger - The lighted apron is a mod. There is a flasher in the back of the apron (and maybe a GI, can't recall and I'm at work right now) but a 5 led strip from Comet works perfectly to throw some nice light on the lower PF.
If someone else doesn't answer before I get home, I'll try to snap a pic of apron removal. (you dont have to remove to add light BTW)
I did my own lighted dino and pulled power from GI in the rear. Used another 5 led strip from Comet and mounted it on bottom of wireform facing upward. Looks awesome.
Adding light to the rear of this game really helps. Some light in "The Machine" and on the right-rear make the game much more fun in a dark game room.

A pic and/or written instructions to remove the apron will really help me!

Anyone have, know where to get cabinet decals for Flintstones?
Could really use a set of Head decals, not so much lower cab.
Thanks, PM me with details.
Hey fellas. Just guaging to see what the interest would be in a conversion kit to make The Flinstones more like the cartoon rather than the film.
Currently working on a few things for the playfield, translites, and 2 new sets of cabinet artwork. One with blue sky one with orange:

I think that's what most aspire to when customizing these.
Playfield decals seem to have dried up (or you have to know a guy, who knows a guy)
The alt translites available are ok... Not a fan of the drive-in movie BJ one. and the other is ok.
Pinball PT did some custom cartoon cabinet decals as well.
Hi Flintstones friends! I sold my Flintstones to a local guy and he says that he can't get balls to go in "the machine" - I never had a single issue when I owned it, but he's saying "the machine" spins, but you can't get the ball up there. There is a flap in the top that does not open to let the ball into the lift. Has anyone experienced this before? Or is he maybe not fully activating the proper mode for multi ball that sends balls up there? Thought I'd see if anyone here has any thoughts...

Reset to factory settings and supposedly all is good now.

Hello all.
I have had a problem with the skill shot not working and when I hit the flippers the score would advance 70,000 per hit.Skill shot was working sometimes and then not at all. I must have looked at the underside of the playfield 10 times and still could not find a loose wire. I had another look and found the whole lamp holder for the "c" drop target had fallen out of the board and was caught in a wiring loom .Resoldered it back onto the board and problem fixed. Hope this helps anyone who may have this problem in the future.Cheers Scott.

Go into switch test, hit the flippers and carefully note which switch is showing in additional to the flipper switches. Most likely an opto needs attention. Also check the switches on the top individually as you may have one malfunctioning in one of the lanes hence why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

this pin worth it in leds!
