Were all good Turbo! Say hey to the boys down your way!~SpOoKy
Guys and gals: the bulb behind the Bowl R Rama sign above the bowling targets: what bulb goes in here? I can't seem to find this on the manual. I think it's a 906.
Anyone with some insight here?

Yep, it's a 906 flasher
Just got done shopping this thing. Pretty straight forward.
Only gripe I have w it is that uturn. Seems like it's poorly designed.
Anyone else find it not smooth?

No, mine is smooth and lightning fast...maybe your guide needs tweaking??

Turboderf made a mod for the apron U turn. Might want to give him a shout. Hard to see but here is a pic of it installed.
Flintstones Light Strips 001.JPGQuoted from Blackbeard:No. I'm talking about the uturn up at the super jackpot switch.
Oh ok that U turn on mine is fine
Does the ball shoot out after going around? Where to?
Mine zips around but then hits the metal guide where it came in at and rolls down and out. Not sure that's right.
I see I'm running rev 3. Any real reason to spend the loot for 5? Doesn't seem like any real difference between the two.

Super jp is just a dead end, so it bounces back out.

I recommend getting someone to burn you and updated ROM with the ghosting patch.
Great update.
And I really like that version 5 puts a max on the jackpot so you don't get ridiculously high jackpot scores in multiball.
But that just me.
Quoted from Blackbeard:Ran: I do see some led issues like ghosting going on. Where would I get the no ghosting led?
I had a local up here with a rom burner do it for me. Gave him my old rom and he wiped it and loaded the non-ghosting version 5 into it.
I'd search the forum for ROM burning. Chances are there's someone near you who could do it for a 6-pack of beer.
guy on ebay with all the alternate pinball translites makes em. His name is john in Colorado. got all 3 translites from him, and sticker. just search alternate translites in ebay, then email him.
Got my Flintstones this weekend and am excited to get it tuned up and modded out! Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. I'll post pics as I go along.
Quoted from dantebean:The "clean" version. (I have kids) I would like an overlay but I have full mylar and don't feel like tackling that yet.
Where can you buy the overlays? I cannot find them for the life of me.
Thanks.

Did you figure this out? When I got my FS, it had same issue and I found it to be a completely missing ball guide wire on the upper part of that lane, just behind the white target for "Frenzy/Dino" (Wire ball guide is part #12-6466-15 or Marco MS15731). Once I hammered in the replacement guide, the ball feeds smoothly into lane and stays in there if in multiball mode, or goes into the Bronto if in crane mode, etc. Was very frustrating before the part was installed.
Thanks Beard. I used Folk Art acrylics from Hobby Lobby. The colors are just my experimenting until I liked what I saw.
Looks really cool. I may do the same.
The game has a really good art package to it. I love the colors etc
I bought a used PF from another Pinsider and sent it to Brian at HSA for repair and custom work. I don't care for stickers and prefer not to see Rosie's mug staring at me everytime I play.
Solution, I asked Brian to custom paint a cartoon Flintstones scene. Here's the results.

I finished this Flintstones for a friend for Christmas with over 34 hours into it. Great game.

You could make your own if you're desperate.
I know ... Seeking the easy and correct way out first ... But from the looks of it I am SoL. I did see it on an Australian parts supplier website. Geez, they got everything.
Quoted from Blackbeard:Check mad
That was one of the first places I checked. Unfortunately they don't have it.
Hello fellow 'stoners,
Have a couple questions and a suggestion if you don't mind.
Q1: I'll be needing to get replacement ramps for my FS and the only place I've found'em is at Marco. However, they don't come with the metal flap nor the decals. Anyone know of an alternative source that would have a complete part?
Q2: I too am in need of a replacement bowling pin retainer. Mine is so worn that the pins like to turn around while game playing. If anyone sources another place in the US....
S1: Since this is such a large thread with great info, my I suggest that all the various mod sources, parts, etc that people discuss be placed in the OP post on page 1? One stop shop on how to pimp out our FS without combing through the thread.
Thanks!
For those of you having problems with the pin retainer, I found that if you don't want to replace the entire retainer you can actually use a really thin metal washer to keep the pin from dropping.
Cut the washer and slide it onto the pin shaft. Pinch the washer closed. Problem solved (at least it solved it for me).
You may need to experiment with a few washers to get the right thickness for you pins.
Thankfully they're only a few cents at Ace Hardware.
I am still working on some Details and a new topper but I would show you some changes I have made on my Flintstones.
First of all the original Playfield looks much to dark for me. There some Plastics without any GI-Lamps under them. I have added some LED-Strips in these areas. With that Remote it is possible to change colours and some light-programs:
