All is I know that is different, sometimes you will make shots that give you some kind of "Cousin It" bonus points..

I prefer the original game, but they did make a lot of extra dot animations that are ok in the Gold.

I see many people prefer the original game (TAF is rated No 10, whereas TAF gold is at 40)... This is what got me wondering what the difference is... why is TAF gold so much worse... I've never had or played a TAF gold, and I thought they were pretty much the same game, just with gold bits...

Gold has one or two extra mansion rooms, iirc. And yes, around 1 in 3 mansion rooms you'll get a "Cousin It's Hideout" award, which can be points, Extra ball, etc.

The cousin it awards kind of make the scoring a little nuts. Over a really good game they can easily add 100 - 200M to your score.

I'm almost certain you can put gold roms in a regular TAF if you really want to see the changes.

Thanks for the info... interesting to know! I don't have a TAF at the moment, I've had a few over the years (can't resist a bargain... or 'flip' as it's also known), but I'm not a big fan of the game, so they don't tend to stay long... I prefer to spend the high prices they command on other games... but if I do ever get hold of one again I might slip a gold ROM in there just to see the difference... you never know, it might make me enjoy the game more

rules are the same
only a few "windows" from the mansion gives you a "hideout"
realy stipud in competiton (with tournament settings on) when you get a worthless award and the other 20 M. !!

Hi Pascal, I was going to send you a PM, but you've disabled your in-box... I was wondering where you live? Feel free to PM me... (I'm guessing Holland or Belgium, and I'm passing by there soon).

You can drop the gold ROMS into a non-gold game. The only thing that does not work is the "Extra Ball" buy-in since the button was added in the gold version.

I agree with jonnyo -- cousin it bonuses randomly skew the scoring.
