everyone wants to buy low, sell high.

#153 1 year ago

I know some people’s heads that are softening.

#154 1 year ago

maybe different here in australia - house interest rates have risen a fair amount over the last 6 months.

the mid range pins seem to sit for much longer for sale

not sure of the new sterns as i don't collect or follow them

also been picking up a fair few em projects in that time. previously they were tough to come by

I’ve heard that in Australia, the banana flippers point downwards.

#156 1 year ago

That would probably make the game more playable... wider range of shots, just harder to make any given one.

I think the second photo I included from the listing isn't even the same game. Based on the other photos, I don't see LEDs. I doubt he even did anything to it before flipping it.

The playfield wear is a dead giveaway, that it is not the same machine. Douchbag sellers, using photos of other machines to try to sell said machine, pretty low class. Who is the new owner/seller?

He has it posted twice. In the other ad I see a bunch more photos of the machine with the blue LEDs. Maybe he has two Time Warps?

What are you pissed off about?

You unloaded a time warp and now it’s his problem instead of yours! If he offered it back to you for the $850 you sold it to him for, would you take him up on it?

I never care what happens to a game after I sell it. If I did I wouldn’t sell it.

Honestly, the only thing worse than having one time warp is having two so I think you are the clear winner here!

It feels like the market is softening on some older titles but new is still

#172 1 year ago
Quoted from Bohm:

Seems in this hobby there is no shortage of people with significant disposable income so the new prices seem to be still below what an equilibrium with demand would be.

IT just released a new version of golden tee and it's several thousand more expensive than the old one and I've seen the golden tee topic on this board pick up with lots of new players getting it. More evidence that if you're the type who buys NIB pins/arcades you have quite a lot of discretionary income and a few thousand more doesn't really mean much.

Market and availability in Midwest has softened significantly.

The "everything bubble" is popping. The main thing to take away from the "everything bubble" popping is that the air doesn't come out of the bubble instantly. The air comes out over time. The stock markets peaked in November, 2021 (13 months ago) and the real estate market peaked here in Canada 11 months ago. The new and used car market is on its way down, Bitcoin peaked at $67,567 in November 2021 and the high end sports car market is coming off too. There's too many examples to list.

When markets pop, it usually takes months or even years for the air to come out, but make no mistake, everything is cyclical and what goes up to ridiculous valuations, will certainly come down. Do you think pinball is the exception to the rule? Do you think the pinball tree is going to grow to the sky? Not a chance. The air will come out of the over inflated pinball market just as it is coming out of all the other over inflated markets and the US Fed's, Jerome Powell, is leading the charge to make it happen. You only get the big picture when you look in the rear view mirror and reflect back on it, you don't always see it or fully understand it while its happening.

Buckle up and hold on to your cash, there's gonna be some great deals coming down the pipe. Stocks, real estate, cars, trucks, pinball, what ever you want. It's all going to be on sale in late 2023 & 2024 so why not wait for the sale.

Mark my words.

Luxury car market and price of bitcoin are very much so related, imo... Cash is definitely king though. Especially now when you can get over 4% on your money risk-free while waiting for prices on all these items to come down!

Exactly! You've got it exactly right but not enough people understand this or share the sentiment. The most exciting times are coming, when it's all on sale. I like sales.

And with 7-8% inflation you are losing money every day. But at least it’s better than your mattress.

Bitcoin price has very little to do in relation to luxury cars compared to tax rate, interest rates, and stock market growth.

Such a small number of people are in that market to start with and only a fraction of those actually made real money.

Serious, wealthy investors who buy luxury cars generally don’t get sucked into crypto in a way that alters their spending.

You are not describing a market ‘pop’ or crash. You are describing normal peaks and troughs of a market, which is where we are now as you outlined.

Things do pop instantly though. Like the US RE market in 07. Instantly lost 30% -50% of value in many places.

There is no way to calculate the intrinsic value of cash.

Example if you had cash to buy stressed real estate when needed.

No way I have a minty original.

I only think the remakes are falling because they are being re-run by CGC, they won’t fall much below the cost of a NiB machine.

I highly doubt CGC is remaking MM in 2023 (and maybe not ever at this point). They made around a 1000 CCSEs and 30 LEs in 2022. They have 1220 LEs and probably that many SE+ left to make before moving on to their next game.

I know their "plan" was to make a small run of MMSEs in 2023, but that was before they got so
far behind on CC.

Maybe so. I am only going off of what they said.

At one point they stated the topper was an LE only feature for CC...before they changed their mind.

I don't think they anticipated being so far behind on CCs when they made the MM re-run statement at Expo 2021.

Correct but I wait until they actually say they are not running them, I just don't like to make stuff up even it turns out to be true.

and that means what? They aren't remaking Royals....nor do I plan to sell mine, so MM value is irrelevant to me. I'm just providing perspective.
