I noticed the Chipotle phone app now lets you tip when you use the app to order.
Last weekend, I tipped 20% to see if it would get me a better built burrito, it did not ....

    Quoted from usandthem:

Haha. One form of “tipping” that I’ve been successful with is at concerts. I bought two “cheap” $50 seats. I “tipped” the usher $20 and he let us sit in the $100 a seat section for the show. So, when the tipping is clearly bribery, it works. When you put $5 in the jar at Chipotle, your burrito doesn’t improve.

This was not in the jar, this was on the app so they saw the tip before they actually started making food.

    Boneless wings are an abomination.

In the good old days, we just called them chicken strips

I'm all for hacks and deals to save money, but I'm not doing anything like that. There's a camera right on ya and now that AI is involved, it's not so labor intensive to figure out who's not paying what they should be. In Wal-Mart they even use AI to watch the items you pick up as you shop. Hell, I think it even uses facial recognition to ID you while you are shopping.

Or to some people, they just wouldn't do it because it's wrong not because they might get caught.

    Quoted from Bundy:

I am confused. Should I start tipping my pinball distributor when they finally deliver the pinballmachine I ordered, or is that part of their job and included in the 10k i pay?

I always get my machines delivered and set up so I always tip the person that comes to set it up.

    Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Next game I tipped by handing him a $5 bill and I've done that every game ever since.
Damned if all of a sudden 2 beers cost me the price of one. If my wife is just having water, there's no charge for that. He'll quite frequently throw in a free bag of $6 peanuts.
Same thing happens at a local restaurant we have breakfast at. We ask for the same waitress every time and the tip is always around 25% and is paid with cash. Funny how my senior selection is always a full one and now and then there's no charge for my orange juice and whatever we have to drink.

So they are stealing from the company for tips ... sweet

    Quoted from ForceFlow:

I would imagine most younger folks don't handle cash all that much...most people seem to just use cards.

54 and I never use cash
Plastic is more convenient and offers cash back on every purchase - why bother carrying cash and especially coins
Was in a NYC restaurant a few weeks back, sat down and menu said cash only - had to run to the ATM
1st time I have used cash in years

    Quoted from poppapin:

Sometimes its the other way around, no cash, card only. F that, lost my business.

Why does that offend you to the point of losing your business?
Cash is actually a hassle for a business to handle (unless they are pocketing to avoid taxes)
Local NFL stadium went card only for everything, probably a huge savings even with the cc fees.

    Quoted from ultimategameroom:

I figured that all the stadiums went to CC only so their employees couldn’t pocket the cash and rob them blind on the $25 beers that they sell.

and they don't have to worry about counting and depositing cash after games
