Holy crap, I'm beside myself as I just got my current Grail (part one- part two is DE Batman) of pins!!! It's actually a story of absolute Karma, and speaks volumes as to the integrity of this community (and justdavid, but I'll get there in a sec) and the underlying "same team" attitude possessed a good percentage of the people in this hobby. A couple weeks ago, I lined up a BF 7 hours away, and had it all set with seller. Long story short, it fell through at the absolute last minute, and I was crushed- not only had the grail slipped from my grasp, but I had taken 3 days off from work for the exchange. Don't get me wrong- I have plenty of things I can work on, but hey, when you're feeling blue you can put a cloud over anything. I desperately threw up a forum post- more out of depression than hope. Haha, no effing way this would work out- I had posted I wanted a BF TODAY and had three days to work with. I could absolutely not believe when I was contacted by justdavid. He was preparing to sell his BF, and hadn't listed it yet- and he saw a desperate pinsider (he didn't say that- I am saying it) and offered to help. This isn't a cheesy overstatement- it's exactly what he did. The machine I purchased is immaculate and came from an obvious, loving home. I could tell when we spoke he hadn't been quite ready to sell it- I imagine he wanted to do a cleaning of the glass and general playfield, and give her a good wax for selling. I say that not because he told me, but because it is absolutely obvious that he did those things. Not too many people do that anymore- fresh wax, clean plastic/glass etc etc- yes some of us here do, but we all know many sellers don't. My point here is the total turn around here was less than 24 hours from contact, and dude has a job and a family and its a freaking Tuesday. That's a wow to be that committed to integrity and helping out a fellow pinhead. Also, same day I had gone in for last minute taxes- was absolutely sure I should have owed, and I got a refund. It was the best Karma day I have had in recent memory- I drove 15 minutes less for a better machine (priced LESS than my original selection) from a quality pinsider on what I thought was should have been an absolutely horrid day. Still a bit floored. Thanks to justdavid and every awesome BAMF in this hobby.
