    Quoted from jamescardona:

It only makes sense for Stern or any pinball manufacturer to try to stop people who they feel are not being objective in the reviews of their products.
Actually, what they should be doing, if they are not already, is put their products in front of more people who are objective (or supporters) so that on release you have a bunch of thorough, well-thought-out reviews on the day one product reveal so that the negative-nellies are drowned out.

Except ... a lot of the criticism towards stern (& I really like their machines) are being objective and truthful - it's complaints about the poor quality of PF's, parts breaking in the first week of ownership, things not put together correctly.

Actually, what they should be doing is improve their quality and assembly, so the complaints really are just opinions about theme and layout
A few bad reviews/comments about themes and layouts people don't like won't hurt the company. Revelations about poor quality will.
My JP arrived with about 3 issues I had to fix out of the box, just not acceptable

    Quoted from holminone:

    Counterpoint. ....
So if you are Stern, trying to expand the pinball universe beyond this eclectic community, do you risk having die hard pinhead culture pollute your message with opinions that tend toward negative and/or spotlight things that a neutral observer would never notice on their own accord?

If you are trying to expand pinball beyond "this eclectic community" - what's the difference?
The casual non-hobbyist buyer in never going to see/read the stuff they are trying to shut down anyways

It's just stupid - STERN improve your product and address the quality/assembly complaints and most of the negativity will go away - the rest will just be ignored noise

And leaks happen, it's just the nature of the beast.
Look at all the Ford Bronco leaks
