Have a chance to purchase "Riverboat Gambler." I've never played it. It looks entertaining and in great shape. Anyone ever played it? Thoughts? Debating if I want to purchase this..... or keep saving and buy a Creech.
Thanks in advance......!

It is no Creech, but I enjoy it. Like many System 11 machines, it is not very deep rules wise, but I find it fun to play. The music drives me nuts, bit not as much as, say, the sounds in Jokerz!
The interactive roulette wheel is fun to me. The "wizard mode" is not super easy to achieve (spelling CASINO). If you can even call that a wizard mode.
In my lineup it is a good addition. To me it's a fun game when I just want to play pinball and not think too much. And if I have headphones on, it's a bonus
Make sure the red ramps are not broken. They are impossible to find.

I believe I saw the one you are after for sale. I've never played one, but it looks like a fun game. If I had any money right now, I would be planning a road trip. Pics look like its in great shape, especially for a system 11
Fun game but if its a choice between getting a game now vs save and by cftbl the choice is easy RBG will never be in the same league.
Quoted from Stones:Thanks! I read the reviews, just hoping to get a little more feedback
Ah okie doke, I wasn't sure if you had seen them, thought that might be a good place to start.
Personally, even though I am not a big fan of creech, I'd probably save up and get the creech (if that one appeals to you); unless the RBG is just in incredible condition and you enjoy the theme. RBG is fun though, I have enjoyed it when I played it.
Another thing to consider is how good the deal is. Here in CO there is a RGB for sale in great condition asking 1295.

Exactly, for 12-1500 sys 11 is a great deal since the prices seem to be going out of control.
I don't regret getting RGB, it's a fun, engaging game. Certain people really take a liking to the theme. I'd say it makes sense in a collection of a half dozen or more machines (or in a smaller collection if you happen to really like RGB). Creech is more of a grail game and probably makes sense to have in a smaller collection.
Personally i think its a very fun game. It does play a tad fast, and sometimes not getting a jackpot can be frustrating lol. Ignore the music (it will stick in your head for days) and you will love the game.
I like the music and I like the game - not for a 1 pin collection for me but with several other pins I like it!
That particular one you are talking about sure looks nice in the pictures. I have yet to play a System 11 I haven't enjoyed, but I have only played about half of them.
What I really like about it is its all about the chips as the bonus. Esp when your playing against someone. You can lose playing roulette and it takes away your chips and your bonus. Much like Who Dunnit.
Yes its not deep but its a solid machine for the money.
It was my first machine and its still in the line-up.

That's what is great about this hobby. Everyone's opinion on any given game is different. Find one and play it to see if YOU like it. Personally, I'd own a RG - it has the fun factor for me. Creech - I sold it quick. It just didn't do anything for me. But, it is some people's grail machine.

One thing that I find interesting about RBG is that when you get an Extra Ball "Second Chance", you get it immediately. The machine does not do a bonus count before the extra ball.
Noticed that last night and found it interesting.

Riding down that lucky river boat! Love the music! I enjoy playing it, though the local place sold it recently I think you will enjoy it! It's a great game to just have fun with.
Yeah that is the downside to RBG, you'll be strolling around all day afterwards humming that catchy, corny song!

Quoted for truth.

How does the song go??? "Take a chance... drop you pants... Riding on that lucky river boat."
I've always enjoyed playing RBG. Not the deepest rules... but fun.
It was my first pin.
Pros: fun game, good playfield with nice shots, real skillshot, music is nice but staaaaaaays in your head !
Cons: 2 ball multiball only, and the randomness of the roulette wheel (which can be a great part of your score).
I enjoy playing RBG. If the price is good then You should buy it and take a ride on that lucky river boat
