Quoted from Taygeta:I don't get the fanaticism over Stern JP. Its good, but to me its the least of Elwin's games so far. AIQ has better code, Iron Maiden has better layout and theme integration.
MM is an all time classic for a reason and has mass appeal. I've played it to death over the years so I have no desire to own one, but theres no denying its a phenomenal game.
If pinball keeps going another 10-15 years I have a feeling very few of the modern games of this era are going to hold up compared to the latest and greatest, whereas I think the 90s B/Ws will always be near the top. Even if their code and the DMD itself is starting to show their age, the build quality and complete package Williams offered in their 90s offerings was unparalleled.
Have you played JP in a home environment? The code is insanely deep, there's a ton of objectives running at the same time.
