I have MM and stern JP sitting next to each other, and while JP is way deeper MM has way shorter ball times and is way less forgiving on missed shots. That has been my experience when I compare a lot of old games to new games. Just an average player though. I think there is a place for both and I personally would not like my collection to be full of one or the other.
