I haven't seen The Hobbit yet, and I haven't read any of the books since I was a kid, but I thought the Hobbit was written well before the other books. Isn't it the Hobbit that introduced Middle Earth and the characters which populate it such as dwarves, wizards, elves, etc...? Given this fact, wouldn't it make more sense to see The Hobbit before the LOTR movies?
