    Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

The school board president of our district just said last night he will likely keep the schools closed for the entire school year. So, distance learning all year. Are you kidding me? The school year just started.
The CA Teachers Association and the school boards are basically locking arms and refusing to go back to work. Apparently these assholes have deemed themselves non-essential and do not care about the kids, who are suffering big time. And don't get me started on the indoctrination.
Just one of the countless gripes I have with CA.

You think teachers wouldn't much rather teach in person? My wife is a teacher and every teacher we know would love to be back in person if they thought it was safe. She's currently working 12+ hour days to make distance learning the best it can be. The teachers know it sucks, but they also know there is no way to keep 20+ 5 year olds from climbing all over each other and passing whatever germs they have on.

    Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

Kids' immune systems are very robust against Covid. This is a known fact. It's a non-issue for them. I can't see the sense in teachers saying "it's for the kids' safety". More likely they don't feel safe themselves.
And I would ask them whether they feel they are essential or not because essential workers have been working this whole time.

I literally just said that the teachers I know at least are having to work longer hours to do distance learning. So yes, of course they are essential. I don't know why folks have decided that somehow teachers stopped working when they went to distance learning when the opposite is actually true.

It's clear that you and other posters in this thread aren't interested in reality but just want to bash teachers. I'm not going to waste any more time.
