It’s hard for him to do a show when slash’s d—k is too far in his mouth

Full disclosure.... I listen to him (along with a couple other podcasts). He’s a great hype man. He could get a dead guy excited about an autopsy the way he talks about gnr. It’s almost like he’s on the take with jjp.... but he’s definitely a part of that hype train, and a reason why people are excited for that title.

He projects his inside info very well, although he is probably on the lower part of the inside info totem pole, compared to info that other podcasts are privy to. But he sells his brand so well that he sounds like the #1 guy in the industry with a stethoscope to the wall. He’s not, but he gets good stuff, and reports it well... even the unconfirmed stuff. His recent reports on playfield quality have been informative and entertaining. His criticism of deep root is on point. His criticism of stern ‘would be’ on point if his recent criticism of jjp didn’t seem tempered.... it seems like he’s holding back on unleashing fury on jjp with all the knowledge he has on the mirco quality issue. I like how he shoots his shot with industry rumors, even if he’s wrong.... most times he’ll come back and admit he was wrong (I do hope he’s right about cgc running cactus next, as I’m a buyer if so).

What’s really aggravating about him though is when he says things (or doesn’t say things) that show he’s really not an industry insider.... kind of brings him down to earth. One example is ZERO mention of PAPA/replay fx dissolving. No replay/pinburgh forever is the single most critical gunshot wound to pinball in 2020.... yet zero mention on any recent podcast episode. The other funny one was when a bunch of high priced nib titles showed up on eBay, and he was criticizing the seller as some oblivious, more money than god collector.... when it was obvious to most just by reading the seller name that it was Betson, the largest amusement distributor in the country selling off stuff from their “vault” (which they do once every few years).

But hey, kaneda... sometimes your Cinderella scrubs show through your Vera wang jeans.... but I will continue to listen, despite the fact that you’re just a guy. Just remember that you’re the McDowells of podcasts, not the McDonald’s. BUT, Sometimes, people like being fed the fake stuff.

    Mike

    Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

It just came to me, Kaneda is the Pete Rose of pinball.

    You misspelled Mario Mendoza

    Quoted from DCFAN:

He rarely ever talks about competitive pinball, thankfully, so I am not surprised he did not mention Replay fx/Pinburgh much or any. Value and pricing are something he enjoys talking about so that is not surprising. The one thing he seems to care about much more than the majority of pinball owners is rarity. I guess that comes with having only a small space and only one game at a time.

Replay fx was much more than a tournament, plus, you have a collection of 600+ pins now entering hobbyists hands due to the liquidation. It’s totally worth a mention on a pinball collector/hobbyist podcast.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Come on Pete Rose has to be a laugh a minute. Think of the wacky fun you’d have on road trips!

Heck, I still have all the positive test results to prove this!
