i think Pirates just had too many issues and was a tech support nightmare so they are cutting their losses and moving on (which may be the smartest business move they have made). although i wouldn't rule out a 'black pearl' edition or something in a year or two.
Most if not all these issues are QC related, if they do not find better line workers the same QC problems will continue.
Eric's mechanical design is wonderfully made, but assembled, dialed in and checked poorly on the floor.
