Even with me setting up one earnable ball per game I am still able to collect w/ bear ramps and tour the mansion. Is there something i'm missing? Thanks

The ROM has the code for the game, Read Only Memory. If you swapped roms and did not do a factory reset from the menu then you may have bad values (from the other ROM storing values differently) floating around in the settings that are messing with you.

If I remember right the "max extra balls" setting is per ball rather than per game (that's how mine was when I changed a setting I think was called "max extra balls" to 1)...it looks/sounds like you earn additional, but it won't stack them (it only actually awards an extra ball if you haven't already earned one since your last drain). Not sure if there is a setting to make it 1 per game...
