Quoted from Roostking:

Wish they werent dropping the LCD though.
For owners, does the LCD provide much?

From my experience, not really. Even though the screen was right there, the focus on the ball mostly prevented utilizing the playfield screen. Habit from playing all other machines made glancing up at the main screen much more common than getting info from the playfield screen. I think removing it is a good move as it was more of a distraction. But it did provide much needed light to the area. Replacing it with something other than just dark art will be a challenge though.

Quoted from Durzel:

The people behind PB have form for phoenixing the company when things look a bit grim. Whose to say that they won't do the same and come back again as "Pinball Uncles", offering 50% off v3 of Alien? "This time we've got it sorted".

This comment refers to the 50% off voucher for those who pre-ordered from Heighway, I think. For clarification, the offer from PB is for a voucher to be used at distributors and expires in 12/2023. So the 50% off isn’t a request from PB for more pre-order money. It’s a good will gesture for those customers who (in addition to PB) got ripped off by Andrew. I hope it will be well received.

I also hope something will be done to aid those employees and contractors who also got ripped off, because the game they created is nothing short of amazing.

Quoted from razorsedge:

I don't know anyone whom has played more than 100 games of Alien whom does not see the PF display as central to the immersion and integration

I owned AlienLE for years. I loved it! Recently sold before I knew anything about this new game. The playfield monitor was useful for adding light to a dark playfield. It was definitely not, in my opinion, central to immersion/integration.

What was central to these aspects? David’s sound package coupled with the amplified bass speaker coupled with movie assets. Even though not the highest quality speaker, it was more than enough for my home environment. Another quality for immersion was the light show that was, in part, due to the videos. The PF screen added to the light show and it was neat.

But my favorite thing of all were the shots, especially the back ramp. Extremely satisfying when made and is my favorite shot in pinball. There are other shots that are very satisfying too like the inner loop from the upper flipper or the chestburster from the left midfield. The game had such a unique blend of clunky and flowing. I wonder how the new layout and magnets will affect this unique gameplay. I would be much more curious about the shots than I am the PF monitor.

Very much look forward to seeing one!

Quoted from billsfanmd:

Since we are on Alien topic any new movies planned? I liked Prometheus but it was a little confusing and slow. I really liked Alien Resurrection in 2017. Is there a new one planned?

My Avatar says he agrees with you. What about Alien Covenant? It wasn’t highly regarded by the masses but I think it is a superb, maybe even touching on genius, work of art. I think a knowledge of norse mythology and an appreciation of the history of Richard Vagner’s The Ring Cycle tie together with the main theme - the ultimate perfect artistic creation: David’s Alien. All the better that a Nordic company is making this new machine.
