I wonder if anyone has tried this in a 2007 or later.

I think I read somewhere that they were. Not sure though.
I really think a sticky dedicated to this subject is of value. When I was vehicle shopping last month I could have used some insight on which new cars could haul a pin. I ended up with a new Ford Edge.

If you ever need help moving a machine, let me know. Even if the CR-V ends up not being pin friendly, we can easily get it accomplished no problem.

The new CR-V's are NOT pin friendly. The new style CRV's have the rear seats that fold up against the back of the front seats. Because of this design the rear is a few inches short.

Look at the Toyota Rav 4, that car is very pin friendly.

Have you considered a Ford Flex? It holds a widebody pin easy and gets great gas mileage.

The new Chevy Equinox is very pin friendly and it gets excellent mileage.

A CRV is not pin friendly. I shopped for a vehicle last year and ended with a 2008 Honda Element which works perfectly. The back seats fold down flat then lift "up" into the sides, creating a cargo area in the back. One pin fits in like a glove. I also used to own a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 which will work - moved many a pin with this vehicle.
