I had sellers remorse just a few months after selling a HUO 2010 unit. I realized it was a bad move very soon after the sale. Luckily there are plenty of IM's going for sale recently. I grabbed a routed 2010 from NJgecko that needed some work. I had to replace the magnet cores, they were beat up and mushroomed out with a little playfield damage. I am doing a shop job now and will be complete by the weekend. Tearing the top of the playfield down, new rubbers, wax, cliffys, LEDs and reassemble. The game will be nice and I saved over 1000 bucks over a new in box IMve.

Yes, I would have liked a VE but I was a little late on the new in box sales. Everyone bought them up fast. Now all the new in box that remain are being gouged. I was quoted 5700 and 5600 without shipping from 2 different dealers. Now I know that they were sold by distributors near me for under 5k. Sorry I will save 1500 dollars on the routed IM I bought. I am not upset about it, a little work and I will have a nice game too!

Quoted from madscientist101:

I bought a IMVE and stashed it in my garage still unopened. I look forward to cracking that bitch open when I either make more space in game room or build another game room yet why stop collecting right?

Damn dude! I would swap out another pin for the space, you are missing out. I consider it in the top 10 pinball machines ever made. Tron and IM have a very special place in the pinball realm.

Quoted from usandthem:

Are you saying that the remaining NIB IM's from a well- known dealer in your state were gobbled up by other dealers and marked up to $5600-$5700?

Not in PA. I wont give specific details but I got 2 quotes out of state and I mentioned I was going to pick up the game. One was 5600 and the other was 5700, I have bought several new in box machines off of Cointaker at very reasonable prices like under 5k for pro models. They were sold out for a few weeks so I tried elsewhere.

Melissa is about the nicest, most accommodating person that you could ever deal with.

Agree!!! They are great to deal with, no complaints here.

Quoted from usandthem:

If I'm not mistaken, Cointaker was accused by some of selling off an old IM at an inflated price just before IMVE was released. I had forgotten about that. That is low IF they in fact had insider information. There is no proof of that.

As far as I know it was pure coincidence that they sold before IM VE was announced. They run a ton of locations, sell LED and pinball machines, and Chris has a full time job. To be honest I have no idea how they can do all of it and not go crazy! It did look a little suspicious that it was sold for a premium right before the VE announcement but i'm pretty sure they wouldn't do anything intentional. It would make the company look bad for just what like 1500 bucks? They sell and buy a bunch of games, I think it was purely bad timing.

All I am saying is that I have hung out with Chris and Melissa, they live a little over an hour from me and they are nice people. My personal experience has been nothing but great! I bought Tron LE, Met pro, ST pro, and red SM off of them. All of the games were in great shape and fair price.

Quoted from Pimp77:

Alright you high score droppers...let's disclose the tightened outlanes and anything else. Jericho carry-over? Rubber bands on outlanes? Disabled magnets?
I'll never come close to these scores on my IM.

Don't forget about 5 ball setting with a ton of added extra balls added on to make it more like a 12 ball game

I am just about complete restoring a 2010 routed IM. I noticed in the settings menu there is now a setting for either standard lamps or LEDs. Is there any difference that anyone has noticed? I am wondering if the power is reduced for leds setting?

#146 9 years ago

I got cointaker non ghosting leds for GI and am very happy. Most of the game is in blue and red except for several cool white leds to brighten up the game. I think IM looks fabulous with leds. It looked too dull with incondecents installed.

Quoted from Baiter:

I hate to burst your bubble, but the outlanes can be widened one more notch. That's only position #3 of 4.

Very True! There are 4 possibilities on IM lanes. Actually 5 options if you are insane and remove them all together
