Quoted from Grinder901:

I need some help from my fellow Iron Man owners. I am having some fuse issues.

These fuses not lit, does that indicate they are blown?

Honestly, I have no idea as I would never trust the word of some lights anyways when you SHOULD be pulling the fuses (preferably with a fuse puller) and testing continuity.

Were you doing anything that could blow fuses (e.g. "modding" with the lights on ? ).

Quoted from Grinder901:

I removed my coin door and shooter rod housing, swapping them out and while the shooter rod is back, the coin door is still gone. I thought it would still play without a coin door but no luck.

That is likely the coin door interlock switch (The big fat stick like button that gets depressed when you shut the door).

If you pull it "out" it should be set up to act as if it were closed and allow you to play a game.

However it is there for a reason (so people, cats, etc. do not ge fried if the game is up and being worked on, or the coin door is open).

No joke, within 15 minutes of owning my first pinball game our new kitten jumped inside and I fired a game up without knowing he was in there.

That was almost 15 years ago now, and the cat is still going strong, but considering it was an Earthshaker to boot it must have been a bit of a ride for him

Quoted from FrederikFrost:

As long as the fuses you placed are weaker, it will do no harm, as they will blow before anything happens.

It sounds like he put some 5A fuses in place of some weaker fuses. I would reverse this ASAP.

Risk of regret is too great IMO if you put it on your 'round to it list.

Actual fuse values should be listed somewhere in the game (in the backbox?) or in the manual on Stern's site.

I think this is one of those "teach a man to fish" moments .

This sort of information should be well documented on Stern's site, but you might have to do some digging to find the manual:

I thought it would be here:

But I could only find it in the internet pinball database copy of the WPT manual here:

I would read these first pages carefully and make sure they match what you pulled / your game.

I am surprised Stern took down this information from their website; weaksauce!

Quoted from pinballcorpse:

The fuse list is in the back box. In fact the list is partially visible in the lower right corner of the picture Grinder901 posted.

Skills of observation... for the win

I thought this would still be up there, but who knows. If not posting it saved Stern 10 cents (and they are allowed by regulations) they might have cut it

Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

In a couple weeks, you'll have 2 IMs. I'd like to think you'll become the resident expert!

Indeed, you'll be able to compile the exact list of differences between the two easier than any of us can. Bulb styles, thickness and number of plys in the playfield, wire gauges, etc.

All the critical stuff that will keep collectors up at night

It'll be hard to wipe the slobber and keep my boner out of the way as I play though.

Not that my opinion holds more weight than any other, but if you are putting down a full playfield protector in response to seeing wear that is not even visible (form a player's position) on routed games... this might not be the right hobby for you.

Clear chipping off with chunks of art is BS, but at the trough entry I could care less. If "trough entry" pictures become a thing when selling a game this hobby will have officially jumped the shark.

Quoted from mattmarr:

Just joined the club this week after picking up a very minty IMVE from a fellow Pinsider.
Beyond the game being freaking awesome, I did want to give a huge thank you to the dude I got the game from. It was definitely as described and he even met me along the way to help cut down on the distance. He also didn't murder me, which I know my wife and kids appreciate. Can't wait to dig into this game; DoD MB here I come

Welcome to the club, I am an IM owner since ~2010 and still get a charge out of playing this game! Still my number 1 or 2 go to game (#1 for short games for sure!).

Anyways, that is usually my quote regarding a pinball or even craigslist trip. Even if I don't get the thing I want, at the end of the day if you weren't murdered and stuffed in a storage locker, it could have gone worse right?

To all the people I have randomly met due to internet dealings, thank you as well for not murdering me (yet?)
