So are you restoring that Iron Man or parting it out? I right ramp cracked where the switch connects a few weeks ago so I'm in the market for a replacement. If you're parting it out, let me know what the right ramp looks like and if you'd be open to selling.

All brass plated bolts on, had an issue with a few but Chris at pinball plating got it fixed. Only thing left is to get shooter barrel spring plated.

I am no longer in the current owners club (jumped in and out twice now), but I am looking for someone that is still in the owners club, and would like a free set of these cards in exchange for a few pictures installed in their machine.
If you are interested- the first person to respond in this thread (not via PM) will receive the set. If you aren't the first person, but would like a set of them, they are available in my Pinside shop.
Thanks!

Anyone know if there are any hardware differences between an original Ironman and a vault? Looking to drop a fully populated original NOS playfield into a Vault.

If your looking for a backbox LED kit by flipper fidelity for your Iron Man GAP has a good deal going on - 2 left
It’s not the interactive one but who really is watching the backbox anyway, it does fade to different colors around the perimeter if you want it to

It’s like everything else, you end up doing one at a time, and eventually you run out of stuff to do, and you’re done. The hardest part is the first one.

Little shout out to Chris aka Mr_Tantrum for these flipper toppers, super cool guy who made sure the designs where exactly what I wanted and the quality is brilliant, highly recommend Chris and his flipper toppers.

My right ramp lower switch snapped off the ramp of my IM so I am in the process of trying to swap it out with a new ramp. I have everything unscrewed except I can't figure out how to get under the upper right switch to hold the bolt and unscrew the two screws holding it to the ramp. It is very tight up there.

Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a special tool required to get under there? I'm not the best at this type of stuff and am worried I'm going to pull off the switch wire trying to somehow get to it.

How did you repair your old ramps? Superglue? Mine was about 62 days old when the ramp broke. Stern is not going to warranty the ramp. I wonder what the best way to keep a new ramp from breaking at the same point is and how much of a nightmare it is going to be to remove the ramp and install a new one. These plastic ramps seem like a PITA.

I have both left and right ramps, both new but the flaps where a little rusted up out the box so I brought a new pair. Might be pricey to ship over to you though due to the size.

Who was your distributor? Ramp should last more than 62 days

Quoted from PinRob:

I sent a message directly to Stern about a warranty claim. They told me to contact my distributor regarding replacement parts. I emailed my Distributor this morning and the are working to see what they can do for me. I should have emailed them first I guess, my mistake.

Email trail Stern:

Hello

I ordered the machine on 1/12/2020 and I received it on 1/24/2020. You actually helped me with an issue the day that I notice that all of the lights on the palyfield were not working. You knew exactly which plug to look for, thank you. The left ramp has broken at the first "gate" as the ball enters the ramp. I have attached a picture and can take more if necessary. The ball must have hit the metal arm of the switch and broke the ramp.

Reply

Mike,

Good Morning and thank you for the picture. Unfortunately the Game is past its warranty period and the ramp will need to be purchased thru your distributor. Stern does not sell parts direct but your distributor will be able to assist in ordering the part on your behalf.

Thank you,

the ramp broke after 62 days , how long did you wait before emailing stern about having it covered under warranty?

It broke 15 days ago. I reached out to Stern this week via the "contact us" link on their page. I have been crazy busy at work and remembered to email them
this week.

I think it is 62 days is from the date that I made payment for the machine on 1/12/2021 until 03/17/2021. So actually it was about 52 days between the date that I received it 01/24/21 until I made contact on 03/17/2021.

Either way I will get a new ramp and attempt to install in myself. The install is what I dread the most as this is my 1st machine.

Seems like you have a typo in your email to Stern. You indicated that you bought the game last year, not this year. They think you have had it for more than a year.

Dang! I will email them back THANKS!

** Update My distributor point out my mistake in the dates and Stern is going to mail a replacement ramp. I am working on 2020 taxes and have 2020 on my brain. Now I feel like a jackass lol

I have a ramp entry protector for iron man in my parts bin. I never used it and the games long since sold.

I can see what parts I still have if you'd like.

Any ideas on how to slow the ball down where it will not jump around at all? I have the coil strength set on "soft" in the settings. I set the pitch angle at 6.5° using the "pinball leveller" app. Would softer rubber on the flippers help?

Try increasing the pitch a bit. Might make the angle harder for the ball to lift.
