My son got Do or Die on the first game he played with new code

He was happy as hell

Which made me happy as it is such a cut throat game - he used to get upset and didn’t enjoy playing it

I of course backed up my old codes Incase if becomes a cake walk

Which Do or Die? The Hurry Up or the Multiball. They are two very different animals.

I can start the Hurry Up probably once every 15 to 20 games.

In over 2000 games I've never even been close to starting Do or Die multiball. I bet I've only collected a hand full of Whiplash Super Jackpots in that time. I've never collected more than two sets of Drone targets. I don't think I've ever been to level 3 of Iron Man targets.

If you add Back In Black to at the start of the game, I'll kick in a donation as well.

Either way without your updated version with Shoot To Thrill and Ironman at the end, I don't think I can bring myself to do this update. It is that good and enhanced the game for me that much.

How do you get to the do or die multiball?

You don't, that's the problem...no one does...LOL. I bet, in all honesty, that the number of people that have ever been there could be counted on two hands (maybe one).

You need to "complete" all of the characters. So a super jackpot on each of the three main multiballs (Monger, Whiplash, War Machine), get three sets of Iron Man targets, and the roadblock...four sets of drones.

You become one of the best players on the planet...

For the longest period of time between original machine creation (2010) and a manufacturer-supplied software update (2020)? i.e. 10yrs apart.

Metallica was 2013 release and late 2018 code update (5yrs).

I guess you could class the CGC remakes are having longer periods, but they're entirely new machines, on new hardware that's emulating the old software.

What about LOTR and the LE version release?

Need some assistance. How do i download the new code on a Iron Man vault edition. I have no manual handy. It has a dip switch. I also see nowhere to put the flash drive. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

- Copy code to formatted USB drive, no other files/folders on drive
- Turn machine on
- Flip dip switch 8 to on (bottom left of board)
- Press the white reset button (top left of board)
- Insert USB drive (top right of board)
- Press the select button (far right) in coin door
- Select look for/update code
- Select verify the image
- Wait for the code to install
- Remove the USB drive once installed
- Flip dip switch 8 off
- Power cycle the machine

I've noticed with mine that I have to insert the USB before selecting the "Update Game Code" prompt. If I follow the prompts like in the video, the machine acknowledges the USB with the sound, but doesn't look for the file. The best work around that I've found is: 1) flip the dip switch 2) press the reset button 3) insert USB 4) follow the prompts.

You can actually turn on switch 8 and put the USB in before you turn the game on, then it will go straight to the USB update menu.

ERROR, should read Feature Adjustment 21 for the Incandescent/LED option.

Monger set to Hard (you have to hit the center shot only to activate Monger)
I also set Extra Ball to 3 IM targets and only 1 extra ball

Just download the "Vault edition" version from Stern - this seems to be valid for the Vault and the current re-Vault, but NOT the original.

Anyone else hearing the Jericho call-out?? I just had Jericho but didn’t hear Stark say “ladies and gentlemen, the Jericho...” EDIT: Ignore me! Heard it this time.

Sometimes you hear it, sometimes it's just a short version of the callout. It's what i love on IM, you always hear new callouts, even some years after !

I really appreciate the code update 1.85 but honestly the addition of the super skill shot sucks, for 2 reasons:
- it's basically the same thing with the simple skill shot, shoot the top lanes
- i'm reallly bad to make it, i i haven't done it yet, even after a dozen of games

I've only played 3 games on thew new code so far, two of the three have been my best games to date.

I have the Robert Winter vault code with a ColorDMD. All good. The only issue is that there are now more scenes (such as the new arc reactor bonus) to be colored that show up as a mustard mono-tone. That is specific to the new code release and not anything that RW changed.

I think my gc on past code was closer to 170mil, but this is Definitely a nice touch

To be honest, I don't know. My son was on a chair in front of me covering the glass with his hands and I barely looked up at the dmd. Has to make sure he was standing on the chair properly, while also trying to find the ball between his arms and head blocking the lower half of my playfield.
