But there is the potential for you to save another pinsider from going through the same problems as you. Isn't that worth it?

Like I said, I think that a lot of the blame falls on my shoulders, but I tell you what - If anyone is considering buying a flood restored pin tell them to PM me. And I'll tell them to pass.

It wouldn't be awful to have one set up somewhere else, especially one that isn't set up with open outlanes and no ball save like the one at pinballz - that's a quick 75cents! I can only think of two pins in Round Rock, and they are usually not working.

Word. Don't forget I picked Iron Man during State Champs for my "final" round against Brian Dols, and lost. We both had games UNDER FIVE MILLION...lol! I was just ready to be done, I wanted to play IM against someone, and if I lost so be it....and I did. Man, I did godawful down there.

One other thing about the seller - the problems that I think he could have done better on, such as little missing parts, bad switches, are those that I was willing to accept as the buyer. The hacked ramp could have been done before him, I can't tell - but that's not enough to be awful.

If I felt sure the seller knew the playfield was lifting there and didn't disclose it, I'd pitchfork him myself - but I don't know that so I'm not going to err on the wrong side that could destroy someone's reputation.

No desire to throw a seller under the bus right now, I feel like most of this is on me - I could have done way more diligence in the purchasing process to uncover the hacks and some of the parts. Honestly I felt that I was getting a good enough deal to absorb some issues, given that the IMVE had not been announced and I can't hold the seller responsible for the Vault Edition and subsequent value drop of the title.

Under the bus? He sold a pin "restored" that is clearly not. Let's do the community a favor and let us know who to not trust a description from.

You are handling this with way more class than most (me included) would. Sorry this happened to you.

restored" flood damaged pin. What? that sound like a problem right from the get go. I saw a IM on pinside not to long ago that said "Restored water damaged pin" I laughed out loud because unless it's a new cabinet and there is "NO" water damage to the play field it can't be "called restored". forget the water if there is any damage to the play field it can't be called restored IMO.

I agree and it would have been nice to see more people speak up in that IM flood damaged "restoration" thread. People prefer to get excited and congratulate the OP on "saving a pin" etc. and don't want to "thread crap", but I find nothing wrong with pointing out the realities of a situation.

Thanks for the input and counseling folks, I needed it. I'm going to ask for a lock and this one.

A good seller makes sure when NAVL picks up a pin that it is wrapped properly (the sides of the cab should not be showing) all the seller would of had to do was say... Guys put some blankets on this game and then shrink wrap it. Often times if the seller doesn't do some prep work to ready the game for shipping and then says nothing when the delivery driver does a piss poor job wrapping the game.... The buyer pays the price!
