Quoted from hoby1:

No ...... Stern should have built the game just as Archer was intended. “ feature packed “

Yea but, Stern is never going to do something like that.... so now what?

Post the same complaint about it 4 million times on pinside, obviously.

Sensible solution. This is what I've done as well.....

That's easy enough to conceptualize for the OP. The Star Wars layout could have very easily been Iron Maiden--would that have been better? I think the Star Wars fans would take that trade...

Or they both stink, and it's two wasted licenses.

I agree with you on one of the two. That being said, I'm willing to give SW another chance when I see one--maybe I haven't played it enough.

#210 6 years ago

If you don't like it, don't play it. Or, in the extreme case, don't buy the machine.
Not a big deal.

#212 6 years ago

I’m like the game it’s fun but yes too wanted more in it and center shot wasted not going through back of game like LOTR. Don’t know what is exactly but yes can agree on some of it.

Quoted from Billy16:

I played TNA and IMDN back-to-back....After playing Maiden I never went back to TNA. These two games have nothing in common.

Same experience for me at Cactus Jack’s in OKC. I even tried to force myself back to TNA, and couldn’t play more than one game on it after IMDN. Iron Maiden is pretty good to me

#214 6 years ago

Put more time on a pro tonight..... It shoots very well but get repetitive after a while. Guess its a game you need to know the complete rules to make more interesting.

I knew it was a dog from the first time I played it. Iron Maiden is better, but still don't think its gonna stand the test of time. Feels like a bunch of people here that discovered Pinball through Pinball Arcade talking like they're old salts.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Read the little card on the left side of the ball arch

Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

ac/dc will stand the test of time, iron maiden hype might settle, might not. i haven't played one yet. but after owning over 80 machines, luci is the only nib i ever bought.

I played AC/DC first at the PHoF in Vegas and found it to be a letdown. It was a Premium model and I found the mini playfield rather lame and distracting. I was bummed out but when I played the Pro I actually got to enjoy the gameplay. I like the theme as I am a fan of the band so I am happy that I gave it a second look.

With that said I am a huge Iron Maiden fan and I promised myself if they ever made a pin it would be my first NIB. My worst fear after I ordered my LE (my wife actually pushed me to get it) was that it would fall short. As I kept looking for images to be released on the internet I found this and nearly lost my mind before realizing it was Fan Art.

For me the game play is amazing and it gets insanely fast when you start hitting shots and the multi balls. This game is up there with TZ, IJ & STTNG for me.

Not really...... seems like the same repetitive shots over and over with no change up in game play except more balls.

It literally changes the loop shots as you play, in that you can shoot the inner loop and it'll come around to the upper right flipper then on the next loop will drop down to the left one. You can shoot ramp, to ramp, to middle loop, to inner loop, to upper loop, to right loop...

I would like to see your definition of "not repetitive".

Couldn't be more far from the truth... why do people insist on repeating uninformed opinions over and over?

This game has some of the most "reward you for doing it uniquely" or "correctly" rules out there. From deathblows in combos... to how multipliers work in multiball.. to how the loop jackpots work... to needing to sequence of shots to collect the award... then we have the stacking power jackpots, the PF multipliers.. modes that have moving/timed shots... and it goes on and on.

Seriously people... GET INFORMED - http://tiltforums.com/t/iron-maiden-pinball-rulesheet-wip/3787

Just because the game doesn't kill you for not doing things well... doesn't mean its not there. FFS... can't please people.

TWD...... best pin made by Stern in modern times IMO.

Oooooh so it’s reward reward. That’s combined with long ball times makes for quite exilerating gameplay.

I had a 20 minute game and felt exhausted. I loved every minute of it. On LOTR my 20 minute game feels boring. On IMDN it is quite different. I get Cyborg MB and its awesome. Came clise to Beast at 450 million. The fame us awesome in multiple ways. More modes are coming, but it's fantastic at 0.98 code.

As apposed to that pin that doesn't get repetitve? Thats why theme and rules are the most important factor for me, they will keep the game in my house way longer than toys and art.

Well I see the problem - you prefer stop-and-go games.

I am very curious to see when the "PAPA A-bank treatment" will be given to iMaid that was given to LotR:

1) Sensitized slings
2) Open outlanes
3) Whisper-tilt (tm) with the plumb bob
4) lightning flippers
5) large rubber bumpers between lanes and ramps

Play on and good luck!

Hi,
Played it today, and I really like this layout and the flow of this game. Nice artwork too but not awesome.
Unfortunately, the theme is such a letdown for me, I can’t stand this music, that I can’t consider to buy it.
If eventually Stern would built a GOTG 2 pin with this layout ...

To answer OP's question, when I bought my Avengers LE aka GIANT TURD, and just a few months later sold it for a huge loss I hated Stern for at least a year. What a shame to take such an amazing theme and putting about the same attention to detail as my 2 year old does when coloring inside the lines.

I saw Iron Maiden live at the Cleveland Agora when I was a kid. They were OK, i never became a fan. Played the game at a local vendor's open house and had to have it. Now I can't get the songs out of my brain.

What happened at that show? That must have been a disaster for you to say “they were OK...”.

#235 5 years ago

The show was fine. The Agora always had some kind of band playing so the show was not the main focus of attention, at least not for me, it was on the girls I was with at the time.
