It’s been said a thousand times, and I shall reiterate: Not enough value in the premium/le. If you think of the premiums and LEs of yesteryears, you’d agree. Going from a Gb pro, to a GBLE was a huge upgrade and well worth it. St pro to stle also, the same deal. For what it’s worth, the pro is a great bang for the buck. Tons of great features , but still lacks toys and other fun stuff. I actually ignored the lack of toys because the game itself made up the difference.

Leg supports? Same as pro i belive
Strobe light? Whats this just more flashers?
Color changing inserts? Pro has same ones
Color change gi? Not really just has red in some spots instead of all white

EXTRA MODE!

For the price difference i can deal with not having a mode where u shoot a moving ramp lol. Usually im all for a premium but not much gameplay differences or enough bling to justify the 1700 or more price difference. I went with pro since i found one for over 2k less than the premium i was gonna get.

It’s amazing the guys with the pros always have a reason to prefer the pro. The guys the premium Or LE always have a reason to prefer the premium or LE.

Couldn’t agree more. If everyone was rich, the battle for the les would have been bloody. If everyone could only afford the pro, the features of the les/prems would unanimously be seen as irrelevant... At least some are objective about the art, which is subjective in nature.

The pro game play and design sold me, not the extras like a flip ramp. But hearing from Elwin how it was designed to integrate into a mode not IN the pro is info that is worthy of consideration.

I would pretty much always choose LE, but the switch issues on the LE shift me back to pro in this case.

Damn tatman9999 since you have your premium IMDN are you in need of selling your pro? I’m moving my Mother-in-law out if NW Indiana this weekend and should have space in the U-Haul to drag it home with me!

Premium was always my first choice when they were 5900-6400 but now that they are 7300 its really hard to justify the extra cost . In particularity on this title bc to me there isnt a big bling factor or huge gameplay differences . I like the extra features on this premium (who wldnt like extra stuff) but they are not the wow factor that some premiums have and all the issues with them dont help either. Reguarless all models are great and fun to play with the cool layout.

To me they've been a non issue. Did I have to learn to adjust? Yes. Did it take 20 minutes? Yes. Will I have to adjust again? For sure. Will it take 5 minutes? Yes! Will it settle in and need very little adjustment in the future? I'm going to say yes.

Can I Play With Madness Multiball is in the current .98 code release.

There’s another secret mode (10th tomb treasure?) to be included in .99.

Truth is the Prem/LE is ALWAYS better. Show me one Pro owner who wouldn't do an even trade for one.

Whether the Prem/LE is worth the extra $ is what's debatable.

I went Pro on this one. Might regret it later once I actually play a Prem/LE, or might not. Either way I'm happy with how the Pro plays.

I'm surprised we haven't heard more talk of this mode since the third tomb treasure award is fairly easy to reach. Does anyone know of any videos which would show it? I watched the SDTM/Pinstadium stream hoping it would be in it and unfortunately they didn't make it far enough. Would love to hear more talk of IMDN gameplay here on Pinside! What's everyone's favorite mode and why? I'll start.. I'm between FOTD and Icarus. I love the way the spinners are implemented in the mode and how you can use the right ramp as a doubler. On Icarus if you can get a multiplier started and get into a rhythm on the ramps it can just get insane! I had it up to a 9 way combo last night which was awesome!

It depends what the "defense" is. My defense is saving monies; and that's not something that can be argued.
True there are only a few Prem+ I wouldn't take over a Pro...and probably those I would and take off the shit I don't need.
But that's all actual game play stuff like Met's dumbass hammer and the stupid moving ramp in Xmen.

The rest cosmetic stuff have never made a diff'rence and yes i would turn down ugly powder coated rails for standard.

You can make the same argument about the Pro price.

None of my NiB purchases can be defended in terms of value per $. Some are better value than others, but they are all insanely expensive toys for what you actually get out of them. Of course, the notion that I will probably not lose a large percentage of my purchase $ at resale makes it palatable.

For Metallica, I went Pro and the only thing I truly missed on the Prem was the lightshow and the closing snake mouth.

Maiden for me was a dream theme and when the game came out so incredibly well, solid code and amazing rules and layout I was already mentally in for the whole package. I've only got room for 5-6 games in the house so I'm reaching the point where I'm okay with spending a bit more on a dream theme for the collection. If I had room for 20 games the "but the LE is another whole game" math would probably kick in and I'd go Pro or Prem and put the rest of the $ into another game.

Obviously, everyone has their own value judgement to make based on their situation.

In terms of gameplay differences alone, I like shooting the underworld shot under the central ramp and love the left ramp feed to the lock. Gives a nice short break to wipe your hands and gather your wits about you. But iif I had only played a Pro I wouldn't be any the wiser and still be having a blast playing the game.

Iron Maiden > Flight of Icarus = my new favorite left ramp/right ramp combo sequence. Previously held by Metallica Justice mode.

It says it's there in the readme for .98 and at least one person has mentioned playing it..... The mode Keith mentioned that was coming in .99 is Run to the Hills.

Didnt think the price difference was worth what you got, went pro, but like the prem art the best.

You get them by doing well in modes or multiballs. They are similar to Gifts of the Elves in LOTR.

Lot more than just a ramp and the 17 hundo almost always comes back again when you sell it. That is why I have never gone Pro and never will.

Just got to it for the first time. Pretty cool! It’s the third tomb award.

The middle ramp stays up and seems like it wants you to hit left and right ramps?

Every time the ball shoots into the middle scoop it shoots right back out.

I didn’t do very well so couldn’t quite figure out what to do. Animation seemed fairly non-existent so expecting more to come in future updates.

Another point to consider is if the Premium /LE has features you don’t want. Someone said the Premium /LE has mechs which are unreliable.

I don’t like the metal ramp/ecto goggles in GB prem or the hammer in Met prem due to worse visibility. I haven’t seen IMDN yet, but from the pictures it doesn’t look like the Premium /LE has worse visibility than the Pro.

WOW..... the vote is very close.That just attests to how good the PRO is. I have the extra cash so I think Im gonna pick up a Premium next week once my Dist. gets them in.

Reposting from another thread as there is more relevance here.

For those interested, I put together a quick comparison chart of how I personally think the Pro plays versus the Premium/LE. I bought a pro back in April and had the opportunity to play it in depth and really get to know the game. A local pinball bar recently put in an LE and I also had the opportunity to put a few hours of play on that over the last couple of weeks. I have since sold my pro and have put an order on a premium. The decision was extremely tough however - the value of the pro really can't be topped, it probably represents the theme of Iron Maiden the "band" best, is most likely to have the fewest issues and will likely hold it's value better than a premium, but... even with all that, I personally wanted a game with all the features and experience it to it's fullest and closest to how I think the original designer wanted it. I also love Iron Maiden music, have limited game room space, and the extra grand or two to upgrade wasn't a big deal for me.

With that, here's a quick snapshot of what I recall were the key differentiators between the models and my personal opinions on them. Hopefully this helps someone who is sitting in a similar spot as me a few weeks ago struggling to decide whether to go pro or upgrade...
