I am looking to grab a few opinions from you all! Please note that I have played both on location and really enjoyed both of them from a flow perspective. Still learning the ruleset.

Also note that I can only have two to three pins in my apartment and I already own a Hobbit. I want to pull the trigger however I just can not decide between the two and am thinking if I hear a few opinions from you all it may assist in me pulling the trigger on one.

Tell me what you like and don't like between the two.

Thanks in advance!

Both fun games but I vote iron maiden.

Both are great games and much better than the Hobbit in my opinion. I would sell the Hobbit and buy both SW and IMDN.

Good luck!

Not sure what it says about me, however I absolutely love The Hobbit It feels like a adventure and when I hit any of the wizard modes it pulls me in and I sweat trying to accomplish the stages. Even though its an open playfield I find that there is plenty for me to shoot at and there is strategy on how I approach my plays. Mind you this is just my opinion and I can also see why many would not like it.

With all that said I know its going to be a tough choice, part of my decision may be theme as I do like to entertain a lot and tend to have a lot of non pinheads over. I feel SW would draw them in more but I could be wrong

Star Wars is deeper

Another reason I may be leaning towards Star Wars as I love complex deep rulesets and dare I say, sometimes I love that more than flow....

SWPrem has tons of flow, so no worries there.

I was finally able to listen to your Star Wars review and noticed that all three of you were meh about it. I know you were reviewing the Pro and it is a older review, however now that the Premium\LE has been out and the code had been updated, has this changed your stance on it in any way? I really love deep rule set combined with flow, however my fear is I am forcing myself to want to love star wars

I played the pro for about 6 to 8 games and walked away confused but loved the sound and flow.

On a random thought, If you could only house two pins and you already had the Hobbit (Which I love) would you pull the trigger on WOZ or Star Wars Premium\LE?

Thanks in advance!!

I am a rules guy and it sounds like you are as well. I too really like the hobbit and I have a SW pro as well. SW is not the totally immersive game Hobbit is,but ,in my opinion one of Stern's best in that category. The SW rules are very deep and totally non linear. It does take a while to under stand what is going on but you have voices on what to do . several wizard modes, several multi ball and I like the sound ( need to upgrade to get the best effect) and light show. If you like SW movies , even better. I bought the Pro for a good price. The LE is beautiful in my opinion but it is the the same money versus features discussion where that decision is on you. The pro model for me is a rules / speed game where I think it is a cross between Iron Man and GOT. The SW Prem/LE game is pretty fast as well. With the Hobbit I probably would go that way over WOZ in a two game collection for the speed factor.

Nice to have options.

I'm a big fan of Hobbit, I just love the game.

I also added SW pro and like it a lot. I haven't played Iron Maiden and not interested. I'm maxed out.

Thank you for the detailed response as I believe I am going to pull the trigger on a SW premium for many of the reasons you stated

I think Woz is the (one of the) best pins ever made.

Good choice you really can’t go wrong with either of the two. I have a SWpre and love it, lots of cool modes and love the light show and sounds. I own a IMDpro and really enjoy that as well but it sounds like for what you are looking for you made the right choice IMHO. I also own the Hobbit and when you finally get to kill Smaug you’re in for a treat.

Curious, Why not go pro and either have $ to spend on mods and/or be $2k closer to the other pro

The premium features on both titles really don't add much more for their added cost IMO.

It was a tough call, however i personally wanted the metal ramps and the hyperloop. I will say that i was surprised that none of the versions came with a motor shaker as that became my day one upgrade!!

In the end the long term plan is to house my hobbit and SW and once i wind down a bunch a board games that are preventing me in being able to house a third pin os when i will be bringing in a WOZ

What were some of the first mods you you all executed for SW?

Shaker motor and Pinball Pro speaker upgrade make a huge difference in overall play experience. Guaranteed.

The sarcophagus lock is excellent and programmed well too.

First thing I did was turn off mission stacking in the settings. Also, adding a shaker is good too!
