I was having major issues with autoplunge hitting the upper flipper. I tested last night and got 1 out of 10 around the loop. I've done a lot of tweaking with pitch and autoplunge strength and really didn't have any luck. I also tried using the shooter lane adjustment screw to push the end of the shooter lane as high as I could get it. Still no luck. Today I took some advice from the Iron Maiden owner's thread and did 2 things. I very slightly bent the left shooter lane guide toward the center. I changed coil setting to "hard". Now I'm up to about 90% success with no further changes. I'm hoping it stays that way, at least for a little while.

Quoted from Tyamry:

Here is my LE that I unboxed today. What a disappointment. Can’t play without a ball trough. How does that happen?

I think that Stern needs to take their testing process to the next level - by, maybe, playing a game on it before it goes out.

Quoted from andre060:

There are screw holes in the playfield where the ball through was previously installed. This doesn't prove they don't play test, in fact it could be proof they DO play test - the game had a ball through when it came off the line, they play tested it, found the ball through was problematic and took it out. Obviously then the screw-up happened, and the game was packed when it shouldn't have been. But jumping to the conclusion they don't play test at all doesn't make sense to me.

At the very least, it didn't get play tested before it was packed. There should be safeguards in place to make sure unfinished or defective games are not sent to customers.

Quoted from Huggers:

Got my game today. The plunger is awful. Looks well out of line to me. Any ideas? Vid below

Was watching your video and saw the price cards included with your UK machine. 2 pounds a game! That's like $2.50! And I thought a dollar was expensive. Can I play with madness!?

Quoted from Onebignut:

Can you explain what you mean buy bending left shooter lane guide to the center? Are you saying towward the center of the shooter lane so the ball Is better guided toward the right rail when it discharges the lane to the left loop and therefore clears the upper left flipper?

Yes that's right. Note that it doesn't bend very much, only very slightly. I wasn't expecting much, but something I did during that adjustment worked for me. I figured it couldn't hurt.

Today I got a multiball that I really didn't want. The post that holds the front newton ball dropped into the cabinet and my ball, along with the two balls in the newton assembly, came flying down There is a hole in the bottom of that newton ball that I was able to get the post pushed back into. I could then put it through the playfield and reattach from the bottom. It works now, but I'm afraid that it will come loose again. Is that post supposed to be removable? Do I need a new Newton ball? Thanks.

I know this sounds like a minor problem, but has anyone had an issue where the upper right flipper is very loud when returning? It didn't used to be so loud when the flipper comes back to it's resting position. I tried adjusting the rubber stopper that the flipper hits, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. It's like a loud thud/clack whenever I flip. And it's just the upper right flipper and none of the others.

Quoted from jardine:

Sorry to bump guys but I'm still getting this thud kinda sound? Any help at all? Did adjusting the spring help?

I stretched the spring out and it helped a bit. It's quieter now, but still hear the thump. I'm worried that if I stretch it any more the flipper might start having issues returning to it's home position.
