Quoted from Russell:

15 minutes? You must be very technically adept. I've been working on this for the last hour and a half. You have to remove a lot of stuff to get to that switch. Once I got in there, I realize that my switch feels very stiff. It is very hard to depress. I reversed it, reinstalled everything, and a ball can't even get past it. I've adjusted it so much the little metal part of the switch looks beat us. The lower switch feels fine. I guess I'll be calling Stern tomorrow, see if they can send me a new one.

For a stiff switch.. make sure the screws holding it are not too tight. That will cause a microswitch to bind. See if it eases when the screws are backed off

st my opinion but I've never seen upgrades to items other then software

Slimer mech was changed for instance.

Stern does rev hardware... and does send out parts when pushed.

It happens - just when really necessary

has anyone considered altering the tip of the hex shaft to make it more forgiving to the switch?

I would think narrowing the tip of the post would give you more movement before the switch is registered.. and would allow more alignment options.

Grinding it into a rounded tip cone... or even shortening it and adding some tip to it.

Quoted from trilamb:

Got my Premium last night. Worked great for an hour. Then this started happening:
I hit start. It INSTANTLY selects a song and AUTO-PLUNGES the ball. This repeats ad nauseam until it goes through all three balls. The normal game noise plays but there's also this constant low-pitched sound effect that is also repeating and the score seems to be going up from it. I haven't played the game enough to know what switch is connected to that sound effect.
My distributer told me to go through the diagnostics and check active switches. I did that, it cycles a bunch of numbers and switches and I don't know what they mean (i'm pretty new to the hobby). Then I turn the machine off and on. Reboot - and it works again.
Turn it on this morning to see if it's still fixed. Nope. Exact same problem starts again. For all I know this is the simplest problem ever, but I'm new so I have no idea what to do. Put a call in to Stern Technical support and waiting to hear back.
Any ideas? Thanks

This is one of the switches triggering - hence why it auto launches the ball. More than likely your orb target cup needs adjusting. Covered a lot in this thread.

So, the Tilt Forums wiki is incorrect?

Hold left flipper... plunge to ball getting to top of orbit... will drop down to upper left flipper... shoot super jackpot shot.

Have to get the plunge right... and shot.

No, don't put the paper back. It lies.

We have these things... called pens.. they can be used to make markings that tell us things later...
